Introduction

Child labor is the full work taken by children in any fields of work. It is a compelling demonstration either by the parents or relatives. Childhood is the birthright which children should live under the affection and care of their parents; however, this unlawful demonstration of child labor forces a child to live life like a senior. It causes the absence of numerous vital things in the life of kids, such as improper physical growth, inadequate development of the brain, and socially and mentally unhealthy conditions.

Child Labor as a Major Social Issue

Child labor keeps a child far from every one of the advantages of childhood, a most joyful and vital time of life for everyone. It meddles with the ability to attend regular school, which makes them socially unsafe and harmful to society. This illegal action of child labor is expanding step by step even after numerous laws against it by the government to totally forbid the demonstration of child labor. Parents often want to make their children extremely responsible towards their family in early childhood. They do not comprehend that their children require love and care; they require appropriate education and play with their friends to grow healthy. Such parents believe that their children are their main property, and they can utilize them as they need. All things considered, each parent needs to understand that they have some duty towards their country as well. They have to make their children healthy in every perspective to ensure a bright future for the country.

Current Statistics and Challenges

As the world became more aware and alarmed by the prevalence of child labor, the number of child laborers worldwide has dropped. This is good news, but not enough. More than 200 million children today are child laborers, and 120 million are forced to work in dangerous conditions. 73 million of these children are below 10 years old, with the majority in sub-Saharan Africa. The number of children forced to join military and wars has risen to 300,000 over the past decade (International Labour Organization, 2021). Most children work on farms that produce consumer products. 20 million child workers are employed in factories that make clothes, medicines, alcoholic drinks, etc. (UNICEF, 2022).

Solutions to Eliminate Child Labor

In order to eliminate the social problem of child labor, there are some solutions to rebuild a good social life in any country. Creating more unions may help in stopping child labor, as it will urge more individuals to support actions against child work. Each family should secure their financial base to prevent child labor. Government laws should be stricter, and more jobs need to be created for adults, as almost 800 million adults are unemployed (World Bank, 2023). Business and factory owners should not accept children under age in any type of job. These are some simple changes that everyone should contribute to in order to stop child labor and increase the welfare of our nation.

Conclusion

Child labor is a major social issue that should be solved by both people and government. Kids are too young but convey a prosperous eventual fate for any developing country. Everything has its place, and the children's job is to play with friends and grow in a happy environment of family and school. It is crucial for society to recognize the importance of nurturing the next generation to ensure sustainable development and a better future for all.
