A composer is a person who writes music. On the other hand, a performer is a person who entertains an audience. The song Stand By Me was composed Ben E. King (Benjamin Earl King) in 1961. After he died on April 30, 2015 the band Imagine Dragons payed a special tribute him on the 2015 Billboard Music Awards by performing his song Stand By Me. There was vocals, electric guitars, and tamarins in the performance. There was singing. The voices were was high, low, and there was also long notes sung by Frontman/ lead singer Dan Reynolds, alongside lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, drummer Daniel Platzman and bassist Ben McKee. The dynamics was soft and loud at times too. The song was sung in a medium tempo. The song style was Rhythm and Blues because it was upbeat, and funky music .
The Performance made me feel calm, happy and relaxed because I can connect with it. The lyrics to me, mean that you can overcome anything in life as long as your loved ones stand by you and your side. In the song it says “No i won't, be afraid just as long as you stand by me” The performance reminds me of my family, and friends because they are the reasons why I do what I do and without their support I would not have been determined to accomplish my goals. Overall, I enjoyed listening to the Stand By Me performance by Imagine Dragon because I could connect with it. I think the original version of Stand By Me by Ben E. King was amazing and very classy. But, if I had to choose I would say the performance of Stand By Me by Imagine Dragon because it was more up beat and the voices are more modern like.
