There is a variety of animals becoming critically endangered species all over the world, such as the Amur Leopard, Black Rhino, and Bornean Orangutan. In particular, in Vietnam, the South China tiger and Asian elephant are two species that face the danger of extinction because human activities are one of the causes that lead to over-hunting. As a result, the government and citizens have a responsibility to protect animals because of the need to maintain biodiversity and the benefits of these animals.
According to the World Wildlife Fund, there is an increasing trend in hunting in the Middle East of Vietnam, and the government has not taken sufficient responsibility to reduce it (World Wildlife Fund, 2023). Statistics have shown that thousands of South China tigers and Asian elephants have been hunted for their skin and tusks, and some have been kidnapped and sent to zoos around the country. This situation is alarming as it highlights the urgent need for conservation efforts.
Climate change and global warming are also factors that contribute to animals’ migration, which might lead to death and exhaustion. For example, people release carbon dioxide into the air, contributing to the greenhouse effect, which causes climate change. Consequently, the population of these animals reduces when they migrate to find a new place for survival (Smith, 2022). This scenario underscores the interconnectedness of global issues and the importance of tackling climate change alongside conservation efforts.
There is an idea of building a wildlife reserve area within the country that the government has approved. This area is targeting all wild and rare animals that are recorded in the red list. This list is believed to also include South China tigers and Asian elephants. The ideal of this wildlife sanctuary is to allow animals to live close and free to the natural environment, which means that they are allowed to run, lay down, or sleep with other species. All wild animals will be fed with well-prepared meat or grass to reduce the chance of animal hunting (Nguyen, 2023).
Furthermore, public awareness campaigns can play a significant role in educating people about the importance of biodiversity and the steps they can take to protect these endangered species. By fostering a sense of responsibility and community involvement, conservation efforts can be more effective and sustainable in the long run.
In conclusion, more and more animals are becoming endangered due to human activities. People must reduce all activities that have a negative effect on wildlife animals, such as hunting and poaching, and conduct more wildlife parks for these animals. Through collective efforts and a commitment to conservation, we can help ensure that future generations will have the opportunity to experience the rich biodiversity that our planet has to offer.
