Ethical Issues Concerning Respect in Islamic Religion

Respect means how you deal your elders, your parents, your siblings, your children and everyone around you. It is a one of the great ethical issues. Its awareness is very important in one’s life because it imparts a good effect on life. In case of respect regards elders, one should respect his or her elders very much. Because it is very important without this you will not be consider as a good person of the society. Society will commit you as a rubbish of society. As everyone knows that “As you sow so shall you reap”It means everyone will get the same respect from his or her children that he gave to his elders. Its mean we should respect our elders by heart and soul. In elders here come everyone not specially our parents, our relatives. Elders mean everyone greater than you in age and even in experience. In elders the most important one is your parents. Parents are the one who sustenance you in your childhood. They are the one who taught you how to become a good person in the society. They help you in achieving your goals. They slaughter their rest only for you. So, respecting your parents is very important.

“We never know the love of a parent till we become parents ourselves” (henry ward beecher). After elders here come our relatives. Relatives also have a right to be respected. They are the part of your family respecting them is as important as respecting parents. It is because relatives come in relation with you just because of your parents so respecting them is just like to respect your parents. So, we should respect them truly.

Regarding respect the most important aspect is respecting your teachers. Teachers play a vital role in your growth to be a successful man. They teach you how to spend your life properly. They teach you how to become a respectful man in society. In fact teachers are an important part of one’s life. So, respecting them is really very important without respecting them you cannot be a successful and respectful member of society.

After parents, elders, relatives and teachers the most important thing is to respect your kids. Kids are innocent and cute. They don’t know anything. They just notice that how much one cares about them and how much one loves them. Giving respect them means love them truly. Love their innocence and cuteness. Even in Islam respecting kids is very important. We should show leniency upon them instead of brutality. Our last prophet Hazrat Muhammad loves kids. He gave much respect to them. Whenever he saw children, he stopped and gave greetings to them. He (SAW) loves his grandchild very much. Once he was loving his grandchild, a man came and after watching that he loving his grandsons. He said “O, prophet of ALLAH, I have ten kids but I have never loved them like that”. After hearing this, he replied: “kindness is a mark of faith and whoever is not kind has no faith”.

There are many more instances of him about loving children. It shows that we should also give respect and love to children because it is a part of Islam. Form all above aspects it is clear that we should respect everyone around us. Giving respect to them is just like to have respect from them. Respect is a vital ethical issue, nowadays people pay no heed on giving respect to others. They have no kind feelings about anyone else. People become selfish they give respect just because of their mean. It is totally wrong. Islam doesn’t permit us selfishness. We should give respect to others by heart not by our mean. This world is full of devils and sins. We should protect ourselves from them and act upon the sayings of Islam which is perfect and will protect us at the day of judgement.

As giving respect to others is right of them, so we should give them their rights. There are no excuses for not giving others right to them. You would be accountable to them at the day of judgement. So, be careful and give respect to others to be a successful person in both lives.
