Evaluation of The Reasons Why People Go to Museums

Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why do you think people museums is importance? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

There is a general discussion over tourism these days. One of the questions under debate is whether we should go to a museum when we travel to a new place. Some people claim that it is necessary to go there because we can obtain massive information about the local history and culture. However, those who strongly oppose it cite that we are able to gain much more valuable experience in other places. From my own perspective, I agree with the former opinion.

In the first place, an increasing number of people are beginning to realize that museum is a place that we can learn much things. Museum show us the local history, culture, custom and so on. Some people even say that if someone want to know some place, just go to the museum and he would know everything. It sounds a little bit exaggerate to some extent, but it indeed reflects the importance of the museum. Visiting a museum give the tourists a chance to know more about the local people.

In the second place, many people tend to live under the illusion that museum is a boring place and the content there are always out of date. However, they seem to fail to take into account the fact that, in order to attract more people, many museums have refreshed the content and modern technology are also involved over the recent years. People should not be surprised to see the dynamic sculptures and 3-d movies in there. Take my last trip in ShangHai for example, when I entered the museum, I see a robot which is actually a electro-guide, I could shake hand with it and even communicate with it. It is a very amazing and unforgettable experience.

Even though museum is considered to be a best place to know the local history and culture, there are still some people who hold different ideas. Culture relics such as prehistorical clothes and painting for them is not attractive. Only travel in city parks or downtown streets, they maintain, can people understand more about local people.

From what I have mentioned above, we may safely draw the conclusion that it is a good choice for people to visit local museums. Although some people claim that a trip to museum is not necessary at all, I would say museum help us know local history and culture more rapidly and deeply.
