The Coca-Cola drink is a refreshment drink, it quenches our thirsts and energizes us. The Coca-Cola drink is well known for the bright red colour it always has, be it on the bottle or the can. The colour red represents determination, joy, strength, energy and excitement. The bright colour brings joy between family and friends as they share the drink together. The drink helps to refresh one’s being that it energizes him or her and gives the consumer strength to be motivated and determined to do his or her work. The Coca-Cola drink comes in the different forms, such as bottles and cans.
There are two type of bottles sold in Singapore: the glass one and the bottle one. The glass bottle has the slogan “Coca-Cola” carved on it and it has its iconic bright red colour metal as its cap. This glass bottle was used more in the past, however, as the drink grew more well known, the company decided to produce more of its product by using plastic bottles. Although it might sound very harmful to the Earth as more plastic are being produced, Coca-Cola uses PET bottle so that the drink can be stored well and also at the same time the plastic bottles can be recycled. The plastic bottles has an iconic curve at the bottom of its bottle which makes Coca-Cola more recognizable and also at the same time easy for the consumer to hold the bottle. At the curve of the bottle, it has carvings that increases resistance, so that when the consumer holds the bottle, it will not slip away from his or her hand easily.
Other than using bottles, Coca-Cola was produced in cans as well. At the start of the production of Coca-Cola cans, they were fat and short. The whole can is in bright red colour which catches everyone’s eyes. As it comes to the 2010s, Coca-Cola started to produce cans that are slim and tall. This change helps to save space when storing items. Coming to the flavours, Coca-Cola has come up with many different unique flavours over the years.
However in Singapore, there are currently only a few flavours introduced to Singapore. First we have the Coca-Cola Classic, then there are also flavours like Coca-Cola Zero, Coca-Cola Light and the recently-released drink, Coca-Cola Stevia for people who wants less sugar in their drink as they think that the Coca-Cola Classic is too sweet. There was a period of time that Coca-Cola Vanilla was sold in Singapore and many people loved it. Now, in 2018, Coca-Cola just introduced its new drink to Singapore, Coca-Cola Clear. Coca-Cola Clear does not have the iconic dark-brown colour as the liquid anymore, instead it is now clear and almost looks like mineral water.
In 2013 and 2014, Coca-Cola came up with an idea by featuring their labels with customized names. This was a campaign introduced “Share a Coke With”. This campaign was to bring people together and share their drink together to help them create a stronger bond. In 2016, Coca-Cola also featured labels with phrases and lyrics, which made the bottle more unique instead of the old design with just the Coca-Cola slogan on it. In 2018, which is also the World Cup season, Coca-Cola made use of the advantage that it is the World Cup Season. So, it produced cans with countries’ flags on it. This helped to promote the World-Cup and also itself as there are many people who loves watching the World Cup, so that family and friends can drink the Coca-Cola drink together and as well as watching World Cup together, showing support to the country with their flags on the cans.
