Throughout the world, there are multiple new technologies emerging. Technology is becoming more advanced right before our eyes. For example, a new technology that's taking the world by storm is self-driving cars.
These cars have the potential to be safer for society and beneficial for the economy. One significant advantage is the reduction of accidents caused by human errors, such as drunk driving. Self-driving cars require the "driver" to remain attentive to their surroundings, but they do not require active control, which can prevent accidents. Additionally, using a self-driving car could be more cost-effective than hiring a taxi or an Uber. In today's fast-paced world, people do not have the luxury of waiting around for taxis and Ubers. These cars do not need gas pedals or steering wheels. While this may seem unsafe, there is evidence supporting that these cars are more secure than the vehicles we have today. Google's self-driving cars are expected to improve road safety (Peterson, 2018).
In today’s world, having a self-driving car is very beneficial. A major advantage is making roads safer for new teenage drivers and those who might drive under the influence.
