Chain supply involves people, activities, information, resources, and system of organizations where product and service are distributed from suppliers to customers. For instance, there is the transformation of raw materials, natural resources, and components where final product ends with customers. In a supply chain, there is more movement of goods and services as they move from one stage to another (Grant, 2017). That is from raw material up to finished product. So logistic is very crucial in a supply chain. This paper seeks to discuss the connection of supply chain and logistic.
Chain supply management consists of the management and planning of all activities that comprises conversion, sourcing, the logistic, and procurement management (Grant, 2017. It may also give the collaboration and coordination of partners which involves intermediaries, third-party service, suppliers, customers and thus completing the chain. Supply chain alternates the demand and supply within and across the companies. The management is responsible for linking large business function and business process and results in high performance is favored. The activities that are involved in supply chain start with the biological, ecological, and political regulation of natural resources. Then man work follows such as extraction of raw material. That is assembling, merging and construction. After the product is produced it then stored where the customer can acquire it.
The exchanges that are encountered in supply chain come from different firms that try to seek to maximize their revenue within their location of interest. The management of supply chain effort to demonstrate ethical practices to the large companies and global brands on integrating codes of conduct and guidelines into their corporate culture and management systems. The corporation makes demands to their suppliers (Pettit, 2017).
