Military service laws
Under the Chinese Law, it is mandatory for Chinese people to do military service. It states that “all citizens of the People’s Republic of China, regardless of ethics, races, positions, religion or education, have the obligation to attend the military service”. If you follow the law, you need to be able to train for 2 years when you step 18 years old. But in reality, they don’t do conscription anymore because of the huge population of PRC. They get enough volunteers each year and you only need to register your name at the local office in case they would need your services. Otherwise, you can do whatever you want.
