Piston rings are used to help seal the area between the piston and the cylinder wall, ensuring that gases do not escape into the crankcase.The connecting rod is a shaft that connects the crankshaft to the piston.
The main function of the connecting rod is to provide a constant smooth movement between the crankshaft and piston. The main function of the cylinder head is to secure the cylinder block and make sure that no gases escape or enter.Finally, the turbocharger is used to harness energy from exhaust gasses and use it to compress clean air from the atmosphere. This compressed air and more fuel is then fed back into the combustion chamber. Introducing air that is compressed to more than atmospheric pressure allows engines to produce more power without increasing the displacement of the combustion.
