Have you ever had someone in your life that pursued you to achieve our personal legend ? Santiago had multiple people pursue him to achieve his personal legend. Santiago pursuing his personal legend should definitely be a theme. I will give you 3 examples/moments in the book where people pursued Santiago to achieve his personal legend. Melchizedek is one person who pursued Santiago to achieve his personal legend. Here is one example where Melchizedek helped Santiago achieve his personal legend. “Give me one-tenth of your sheep , and I’ll tell you how to find the hidden treasure” his personal legend.

This shows how Melchizedek helped him find his personal legend by telling him where his hidden treasure is. “Melchizedek reveals himself to Santiago as the King of Salem. He also gives him two stones Urim and Thummim which will help him to make a decision should he be unable to make a decision himself”. This shows Melchizedek helped Santiago achieve his personal legend. Another person who helped Santiago achieve his personal legend is Fatima. Here is an example “If I am really a part of your dream, you’ll come back one day”. When she says your dream she means his personal legend. This shows that Fatima helped Santiago chase after his personal legend. "And I am part of your dream, a part of your Personal Legend, as you call it”.

This novel was a very good one and should be taught in other schools so other teenagers don’t give up on their dreams at a young age. Also so they know to chase their dreams no matter what stands in the way.
