In the cosmetology industry there’s lots of problems that need to be solved. One of them that caught my attention was how time-consuming costumer service takes. I Purpose that to solve costumer service in the cosmetology industry we should train occasionally and If the cosmetologist knows the service takes the whole day, to break it down into more than a day. This problem is a really common problem in the cosmetology industry, but people don't pay much attention to it and they should for various reasons.
One of the major problems are, cosmetologist having health problems. Through my cosmetology experience and the articles, I have read before, there has been times I hear cosmetologist saying that they skipped a meal or that they haven’t had a break since the morning. Bringing them to have even worse problems on in life. These are things that they think won’t hurt them but don’t see that they do it often. Another problem in the cosmetology industry is angry costumers. In the “Barbers, Hairdressers, and cosmetologist” article it talked a lot about cosmetologist losing money and the reason being that costumers don’t like spending the whole day in a salon for a service and they rather do it themselves at home. Which brings on cosmetologist not having jobs. And it might not look that tragic right now but if they continue with these problems it can get to that point. All together is a problem that has a solution and should have never been a problem in the cosmetology industry.
My solution to this problem is training, cosmetologist train but don’t do it as usual how they’re supposed to do it. Training would help them in various ways for example pasting themselves, cosmetologist know that some services take time but sometimes need to finish due to clients’ needs or must finish fast for other reasons. But they have to know how to past themselves and break the service into more than a day if that’s what it takes. For example, hair services tend to take multiple hours to achieve the look the person wants but some customers want their hair to be done in a day but cosmetologist need to do their job and tell the costumer what needs to be done and that it might take more than a day to achieve what they are looking for. This will help clients get the service done better and not damaged, they would also be satisfied with their ending result. Something else that should be done is that cosmetologist need to have breaks, there is a lot of them that skip their lunch break to finish the service faster or on time and that needs to be changed because that can cause them problems later in the future with their health. This is the best solution to our problem, but it does come with a negative effect, money wise. cosmetologist won’t be making the same amount of money but the solution is for the best.
In my cosmetology experience, there has been a lot of skills that helped me with my solution. One of them knowing how to move faster and finish with my service on time. In the 'honing their skills to get to the top' article I read talked about cosmetologist who would get good reviews online due to being fast and professional and achieving what they wanted in a short amount of time. And that's something that i have experienced in the past with clients. Another skill that pertains to the solution is that our cosmetology group don't take all day in a service. We know that if the service needs more hours that we will reschedule the client for another day. I read in an article that some cosmetologist would want to be done in a day with a hair service that needed more than a day, and that shouldn’t be allowed for various reasons one being it could damage the hair and costumers wouldn’t be so happy about that either. Talking about being in a salon all day, can be very frustrating to costumers we have learned from that too. That’s why I think the services should be cut down into more than a day. Another important skill we have is team work. it’s a skill everyone should have in their pathways but not everyone works with it. Yes, they say you should work as a team but most cosmetologist don't not only cosmetologist but other pathways too. I have learned how much easier it is when you work on a team in the cosmetology industry.
In conclusion it’s important that we take in mind these small but common problems most of the cosmetology industry have. Because them being small can turn into problems that can affect our entire life. Sometimes people ignore the little things they do because they think it won’t affect them in the long way, but those skipped meals and those back pains they feel every day, and the headaches they get can end up destroying their lives. There is always going to be problems in each industry but there's always a solution to it.
