This photo is called the “Migrant Mother” it was taken by Dorotha Lange taken in Nipomo, California 1936 making it an icon of the great depression. This photo shows a mother and her children going through adversities and intense poverty, but it shows the dedication of a mother wanting to give her kids the best during the depression. The picture shows a weak tired mother, overwhelmed with the uncertainty of what her kids will eat next, where they put their heads to sleep and how she will get through the crisis with her kids.
