The life of an individual transforms as the person encounters new ideas that in turn make him gain experience. Therefore, the experience is the best teacher. This implies that people pass through different types of occurrences and wonders that enhance their transformation. For instance, after a child is born, he has to pass through different stages of life. Such occurrence helps him to get a relevant education that changes him into an important person in the future. A good example is when the child is taken to school to learn new concepts such as interacting with others, reading and writing. Through that, the kid develops until he reaches adult life where he can manage and depend on himself. This essay seeks to describe my experience in learning how to write and read.
My first learning process was very interesting though it was accompanied by challenges. Initially, my parents could read to me so that they would test my understanding ability. They had a storybook by Dr. Suess which was very popular by then. They had to teach me how to read using that book as an example. The book was referred to as “The Cat in The Hat.” However, my interest was only in looking at and admiring the book’s cover which had colorful pictures. As a result, I was bored with the way they came into my room at night to read the book to me. Therefore, I did not like their habit although it was for my own benefit. The book was popular in the sense that it was the only affordable book for the parents to peruse for their children.

In every single minute the parents read the book to me, I struggled to pronounce the word along with them but it was extremely challenging since it was my first time to learn how to pronounce English words. In case of any problems in pronouncing the words, my mother was always by my side to help me pronounce it effectively. This means that my mother helped me most in learning reading and writing. As the time went on, I started pronouncing the words correctly. My effectiveness in sounding the words was boosted when she told me to take every syllable of the word when reading.

After learning how to read words written in English, my mother similarly helped me in writing them on the ground with a finger. Moreover, she held my hand to guide me on how to trace a given letter. It was after learning how to write each alphabetical letter when I learned how to write the words. The learning process became very easy for me since I was told that it would be very easy once I go to school. By the time I went to school, my first teacher did not have any problem in teaching me how to read and write. It was very easy and interesting.

I did not migrate to another country to learn a second language. Instead, I just advanced my level of writing and reading by specializing in different careers of education. Consequently, I chose English literature since I had been motivated in reading storybooks before. As a result, I became a proficient writer in my region and people loved my books. In conclusion, the only particular memory I have in mind is the way my parents taught me how to read and write for they transformed me a lot. Eventually, the memory is key that enhanced my success in life.
