I come from a middle class family, and have studied in Salwan Public School, which is one of the top institutions in Delhi. I have always been an above average student in my class. I was intellectually superior and always stood on top 3 of my class. From academic scores to participation in school debates and sports events, I was an all-rounder. I achieved many certificates and medals in athletics and took part in games like basketball and football. I used to go on trekking trips and educational trips from my school. In 2010, I visited China for the Grand Shanghai Expo, which was about sustainability and adopting new methods of technology and it was an extraordinary experience.
My interest in business developed from the transition of my father from working as an engineer to being an entrepreneur and setting up a manufacturing venture. It has been a learning journey as I grew up, which led me to take up commerce and business studies subject in school and at undergrad level. I completed my graduation in Bachelor of Commerce from my country’s prestigious University of Delhi and passed the degree with distinction. My college experience taught me how to work ahead further in my interest area. Meeting different students, making friends from varied parts of India helped me broaden my horizon. I took part-time French classes, having picked up this language in my school; I developed more interest in this language. After completing my graduation, I did a few internships to put my practical knowledge to work in a corporate environment and understand, learn professional ethics. My work practice includes engaging with 2 firms. Both provided the experience of working as a management and business analyst with core exposure in commerce, finance and strategic operations. I have always had a calling for the voluntary services for the underprivileged in the area I live. The best memory of my school is when, an event was hosted for differently able children, where we spent the day, involving them in art and craft and other fun activities. On weekends I always do independent voluntary services and work with people to serve and do my bit to contribute to the society.
To join the mainstream of service industry my current bachelor’s degree is not enough in fulfilling my goals. The graduation will not be the end of my academic life; I have always believed in one thing that "my learning will define my earnings". Having said this, I am convinced that the curriculum of Global business management at Humber College, a prestigious institute, will further my knowledge and give me an edge over the others upon my return to the world of work, which I owe to my country. Furthermore, I believe Canada is a great country in educational exposure and has many top institutions, in which Humber College is one of the top colleges of the country.
All the credentials provided in this course are of my interest and will benefit me further in my life. Studying in this college will not only enhance my knowledge base, but will also create a level of ecumenical exposure and will immense value to me as a person as well as increase my academic and professional career. I look forward to being an international student at Humber College, Toronto, Canada.
