My Goals for Adult Learning Methods and Teaching Strategies Course

My name is Caroney W. Gregory, I'm a 26 year old Physical Education and Science Teacher, at Frome Technical High school in Westmoreland. I'm a lover of sports and enjoy mentoring and encouraging youth development. My expectation of this course is to equip me with adequate knowledge, to be better able to inspire my students and colleagues. Also refresh my teaching strategies. I believe nothing pushes students to do their best work like a teacher who does not take pride in her own accomplishments, but in helping others realize their potential.

Adult Learning Methods and Teaching Strategies is a course that is expected to give me an understanding of how people learn and develop throughout life. My personal goals include garnering the required knowledge that will enable me to improve my role as a teacher/facilitator in the education system. Additionally, I intend to increase my awareness of the nature of learners and practice new teaching strategies to be better able to, plan for and guide my student. As a young inspiring provide a platform of opportunities.

Goal achievement requires commitment, so to maximize the likelihood of success, you need to feel a sense of urgency and have an 'I must do this' attitude. Most importantly a Positive Mindset is required to prepare the mind for facing new challenges. Use the positive thoughts about the gains and accomplishment at the end of the task Being motivated by my goals and having the right attitude, cements my eyes on the prize of being successful in this course. Francis Bacon posited that “Reading maketh a full man”. With that said I’m prepared to reading extensively to garner the required knowledge to be successful, following guidelines carefully and complete quality assignments. Schedule an Hour or Two of Studying or Reviewing Your Notes Daily. Develop the habit of reviewing your notes or do an advance reading so that studying for major exams would be easier.

Overall, educational goals are very important to guide and help maintain focused and success driven. When setting goals I always remind myself that they must be achievable. My goals are both long term and short term. Education is a must for a promising and secure future and a stable life. Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students.
