My Inspiration to Study Medical Science

The human body has been a mystery to me, and I have always taken an interest in pinpointing the exact needs to detect health symptoms. My grandmother’s anxiety, high blood pressure and diabetes, and her sisters’ breast cancer was often a conversation starter within our family. This is where I was immediately interested in the medical field and also because I had to witness my family members facing their health issues every day. My main inspiration is to make a significant contribution to the health of citizens in my community through effective management, clinical operations, and delivering of health care services.

I became even more interested in the medical field, because I would see my grandmother, as well as her sister getting sick and it would terrify me. I would take my grandmother’s hand and held it, hoping to make things more bearable for her. She would squeeze my hand back gently and reply, “Thank you.” My silent gesture seemed to confer a soundless message of comfort, encouragement and support for her. Therefore, the origin of my own inspiration has been encouraged by my grandmother’s and her sister’s health.

Becoming a doctor has appealed to me because doctors seem smart, responsible, helpful, and they cure the sick. I want to do the same with health, starting with an education in medical school. I want to discover new treatments and dispense old remedies. I want to understand the way the human body works, where I can apply the diagnosis and treatment of specific diseases. As I grew older; In high school I discovered that I can continue to excel in the sciences. My aptitude and inspiration grew simultaneously, fueling each other in a sort of feedback loop. I was thrilled and realized that I wanted to take biology, chemistry, and physics classes and I would enjoy the fact these classes would be fundamentally related to medicine.

To conclude the essay, my goal is to focus on health services with special populations that will enable me to be successful in managing the integration in new health care delivery systems, technology innovations, and the increased focus on preventive care. I want to learn on how we as a society deal with providing the best quality of care for all citizens including the opportunity to a robust system that grants equal access to health care and any health-related services to its users. Everyone is entitled to the highest standard of physical and mental well-being, which I look forward to working in an environment that allows me to create as well as to sustain an outstanding health care rapidly changing industry.
