The world as we live in it is in a state of chaos. Police brutality, women’s movements and greed are taking over and we need to unite to stop it. I believe anarchism is the best path with the best possible outcome. Anarchism is the belief that there should be no government or authority as it causes destruction and is unnecessary. Communities are born from cooperation and self-governance. The political ideology of anarchism should be put into practice so that one may save money on government-related projects, obliterate women’s protests and activist/feminist groups, and provide the gift of action without consequences.
The Institute for Policy studies put out an article on www.nationalpriorities.org which gives a brief summary of the budget for the fiscal year back in 2015 in the USA. The government has a budget of $3.8 trillion on special projects. This was last calculated in 2015. 64.6% of this money is spent on mandatory funding and 29% on discretionary funding. Over 50% of the discretionary funding is spent on military-related operations. If anarchism were to be set in place, the USA could save $598 billion. This money could be put towards other projects in energy and environment along with international affairs which take up less than 2% of the $3.8 trillion budget.
“When states experienced budget gaps, the analysis found that Democratic governors primarily acted to raise taxes to balance the budget, while Republicans sought to cut spending.” An article was written and posted onto watchdog.org by Bethany Blankley with the title CATO: only 5 out of 43 governments received A’s for fiscal policies cutting spending, taxes amidst record economic growth which brought us to the attention that these governments were spending as little and cutting costs to save themselves money. Therefore, if we were to rise up and implement anarchism, all that money that they had been saving would be distributed to the population and therefore, would be able to decide collectively what to do with it.
Crystal Ayres writes a blog entitled 15 Anarchy Pros And Cons where she states “it encourages discussion and cooperation to find common ground.” This “common ground” Crystal talks about is what will bring order to the natural chaos that surrounds the ideology of anarchism. Women will no longer have the need to protest the government or create women's movements or even feel the need to teach women’s studies programs in universities. Opinions will be shared among all people. Everyone will be on the same level, no higher powers or authority. Also, not all compromises need to be found by using violence.
“Police used tear gas to disperse hundreds of Sudanese protesters who marched on a women's prison”. By implementing anarchism we can eliminate this brutal force altogether. The police will be gone and the women both in the prison and involved in the protest will be considered free women and tear gas will not be needed to solve this sort of issue. Indeed, no sort of gas or plastic weapon will need to be used because as people we will be freed of the rules and restrictions that keep us quiet.
An editorial in Daily Times entitled Police brutality must end outlines some basic reasons why police brutality is awful. These police officers are using their power and authority against the citizens of the world instead of protecting us. Many incidents have happened that have had a significant impact on the communities in which they happen. They mention in this editorial that the consequences for the “police brutality and violations against children’s rights have been brushed under the rug for far too long” (Daily Times) and I think we would all agree. This is why we need anarchism. Anarchism will take away all sense of authority and together we can create a way to live and support each other.
“I'm going to be signing a national emergency, and it's been signed many times before, by many presidents. It's rarely been a problem ... nobody cared”. Nobody cares because we don’t consider the consequences of our actions. Trump tells the world in this article how he will be signing an emergency declaration in preparation for building a wall that will separate Mexico from The USA. If we were anarchy, this would not be a problem. He would not have to sign this declaration and we could do whatever we wanted.
When we are kids, we upset easily. Usually, we get upset when our parents tell us we can’t have anything that we want. This continues throughout our entire lives after we move out as adults we still have authority figures that tell us what we can and cannot do. Whether this is the government, professors, or doctors we are always told what to do. If this were eliminated, we could all live in peace and happiness free of all anguish and authoritative figures.
So my modest proposal is to put the political ideology of anarchism into practice so that one may save money on government-related projects, obliterate women’s protests and activist/feminist groups, and provide the privilege of having free will. These problems affect everyone, we all have similar struggles. The problems and struggles we face will cause infinite chaos worldwide. We can stop this by implementing anarchism to our governments and tearing all the walls down to build them up even stronger in unison.
