My Motivation to Take a Bachelor Course in Mechanical Engineering

I am Yevhenii Mormul and my home town is Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Meaning of my name comes from Greek and stands for noble.

I was informed about your university on DEC. com university exhibition and your representative informed me about your Mechanical Engineering Bachelor course. Through this motivational letter, I would like to put forward my candidacy for enrollment in this course. In May 2019, I will finish my high school diploma at the Financial Lyceum in Ukraine and receive the Attestat from high school. I have made a decision to take the most advanced courses in mathematics and physics in order to challenge myself and make sure that I will be as prepared as possible for your study program. I have pushed through the past two years of school work and I have made it possible thanks to my passion, commitment and perseverance in mathematics, physics and a great amount of extra work and practice.

My interest in math and physics appeared at the begging of my secondary education. Since that particular moment I have been engaged in study of digits, which became one of the main reasons to pick this career. Moreover, my interest in these subjects is maintained by both my school marks and several achievements, which I obtained at regional and all-Ukrainian school contests in math, physics, biology, economics and English. In addition, I constantly increase my knowledge by watching different video materials about engineering inventions, and reading scientific texts that explain fundamental processes used in those inventions. Moreover, in 2018 I attended a special summer course organized by DLD college in order to improve my scientific knowledge in English and share experience with international students. During these weeks I had an engineering practice, which involved construction of motionless objects. As a result, I was gripped by engineering and realized real importance and usability of math and physics.

After this particular course, my interest started to grow exponentially and I began doing personal work and created a simple mechanical watch by now. In addition, I do a quite complicated work during extramural courses, which involves for instance differentiated equations of harmonic motions and mathematical analysis seriously controlled and supervised by the course tutor. I also believe that my proficiency in Russian and Ukrainian will contribute to my ability to support the university’s mission of bilingual service efficiently. Being a determined and responsible person helps me to understand and memorize new information quickly. My society considers me to be an efficient problem solving individual, due to my skill to define the right approach.

I would appreciate to get the opportunity to study at the UCD and I hope that I have managed to convince you of my advanced skills and passion to study Mechanical Engineering.
