How do you personally define Integrity and Morals? Integrity are what provide a person with knowing right from wrong. Morals are beliefs that are based on a person’s understanding of a set of values. Integrity are based on a person’s beliefs and principles that are important to them in life and that continue to evolve over time due to life experience. My family have had a big impact on my integrity more than anyone. I was taught to treat others how I wanted to be treated. Things that are important to me include: telling the truth, keeping your promises, and respecting yourself and others.
Religion also plays an important part in the formation of my morals and integrity. My family and growing in Christ are the most important factors, and the greatest influence in the development of my integrity. When I was four I was in a bad car accident where I could have been killed, but God saved me from death. That is a good reminder that God is good. Bad situations, that you may encounter, help to strengthen your morals and values. These situations and events can inspire you to good in the world. It is important to be a positive role model because you never know whom you will meet, and how that meeting will impact their life as well as your own. That’s why I want to improve the integrity of this line and keep striving to become a Lambda Man. In our efforts to strive and build our career, integrity plays a fairly important role. With your honesty and integrity, you practice truth and righteousness and those acts free you from guilt and doubts. We as Little brothers dropped the ball last night and we all need to do a better job of holding everyone accountable for their decisions.
To work with integrity and honesty is the most effective, if not the only way for you to be able to develop a long term and sustainable career. It brings stability into your life and also less enemies. Our values that we keep impacts our actions directly, and our actions directly affects our reputation, this reputation is what really counts. Our reputation is from which our Big Brothers, Senior Big Brother, and DOI must judge and assess us. Therefore, it is quite essential to build integrity right from the beginning of our education and intake process. People who act with integrity are usually motivated to take initiative. Therefore, people with integrity tend to be more creative and innovative in terms of making positive impacts in their life and most importantly in their own working environment. When you have integrity, you are trustworthy as I have previously stated, and you are accountable for what you say, do, and decide.
When you take initiative based on your integrity and credibility because you are defined to do so, you will be dealt with many risks and you will have to take at least one of them. The act of initiative and innovation can be categorized as a leadership quality. Therefore, people with integrity can lead other people slightly better than the ones who are not. Also, they have more chance of influencing others with their good initiatives and acts, preventing others from doing corruption. When you initiate, you need to be willing to take responsibility for the outcomes and follow through. This is something that someone without integrity simply just cannot do.
These so called good initiatives are defined as intentions. These are motivational thoughts that direct your words and actions. You can set your intentions to purposefully guide you toward your chivalrous goals, to influence others to do the right thing. Intentions used with self-awareness enable you to make conscious purposeful choices and decisions. Your acts can be called act of integrity when you bring your values and goals into your moment-to-moment decision making processes.
Before making commitments and obligations, you are bound to be able to honestly assess your ability to keep your word and offer it only if there is a sincere willingness to follow through. To simply explain, this means you do not say things you do not mean, you do not oversell when there is simply not much to sell. You do not allow yourself to commit actions that will interfere with the promises you to have made. You will do your very best to tell the truth and you will not mislead. Trustworthiness is the reward for keeping your integrity intact, therefore others will think twice before committing bad things because of your example. Obvious parts of this organization, where individuals with poor integrity can cause great harm to the overall organization. We don’t need line walkers or people who aren’t going to fulfill their obligations.
