Myocardial infarction happens when the heart muscle dies due to not receiving enough oxygen and blocks the blood to flow properly to the heart. This blockage occurs when the coronary artery is blocked by a blood clot. Coronary artery (blood vessels) passes blood and oxygen to the heart muscle. Blockage of the heart muscle stops the supply, which causes injure. This injures affects heart muscles, causes chest pain and chest pressure sensation. If the heart is not repaired in 20- 40mins then there might be serious concequnsece after it, coronary artery cannot be treated. It takes the muscles to die in 6-8 hours, during that time is when the heart attack completes and leaves a scar tissueforever on the heart muscle. Myocardial Infarction is also known as Heart attack or MI.("Heart Attack: Read About Signs and Symptoms.")The main cause of the Heart Attack is atherosclerosis, which gradually process by storing cholesterol in the walls of arteries. The cholesterol plaque (storing) produces hardening to the inner channel, which is the lumen of the artery. Arteries that are atherosclerosis cant deliver enough blood to the normal parts of the body. Coronary atherosclerosis, Exertional, rest angina can lead to heart attacks. High pressure, elevated cholesterol, smoking cigarettes and diabetes mellitus can increase the risk of atherosclerosis and lead to heart attacks. ("Heart Attack Symptoms, Causes,)The main symptoms of Myocardial infarction is chest pain or pressure but there are few more that MI patients can experience;squeezing sensation of the chest, jaw pain, headache, shortness of breath, Nausea, sweating, heartburn, indigestion. ("Heart Attack Symptoms, Causes, Treatment - What Are the Symptoms of a Heart Attack?)

Some of the lifetime choices that can reduce the risk of having heart attacks is smokers should stop smoking, overweight people should loss weight or else it becomes harder to pump blood around the body. Smoking is unhealthiest factor for heart attacks because it increases blood pressure. People should also start adding regular exercise to their routine, for adults at least 2 hours and 30mins. Exercise will also lower your weight as well keep the blood pressure low. Some of the exercise that benefits prevents to have heart attacks are walking, swimming and cycling. Eating less fat food and eating wholes grains, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables are good for heart. Meat pies, sausages, butter, ghee, cream, hard cheese and food containing coconut or palm oil are high in saturated that should be avoided to prevent heart attacks. People who drink alcohol should decrease the consumption, because it affects half of the heart. Following the recommended of drinking alcohol 3-4 units a day for men, 2-3 units a day for women will prevent heart attacks. ("Heart Attack - Prevention .")

Myocardial infarction can only be diagnosed by Electrocardiogram and Blood tests. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is like a noninvasive test that shows the heart conditions through electrical activity. If Abnormalities seen in the electrical activity than it means heart attack has occur, thru it can be find which area of the heart muscle that cant excess oxygen or the muscles which died. Looking at the characteristic on the Electrocardiogram, identify about the heart conditions and see the abnormal patterns. This Electrocardiogram is performed, with leads attached to each extremity 4 and to 6 positions on the front of the chest. Little bit of gel is applied on the skill, which allows the electrical impulses of the heart easier to recognize. The leads are attached to the skin by Velcro strap or small adhesive patches. The test is painless and only takes 5 minutes to diagnose. ECG can detect underlying rate and rhythm mechanism of the heart, orientation of the heart, thickness (hypertrophy) of the heart muscle, damages to the parts of the heart muscle, acutely impaired blood flow to the heart, and patterns of abnormal electric activity. ("Electrocardiogram)

The medicines that is prescribed after a myocardial infarction are asprin,a beta-blocker, an ACE inhibitor and statin. They are given to the patient so that it reduces the chance of another MI and also prevents heart disease from not getting any worse. Aspirin is an antiplatelet type of medicine that is used to prevent clots forming in arteries. ("Medication after a Myocardial Infarction)

Aspirin is also called Caprin®, Micropirin®, Nu-Seals® Aspirin, Acetylsalicylic acid. Aspirin is a medicine that works to reduce the glueyness of the platelets. Platelets are small particles, when there is a cut in the blood vessels it forms blood clots. If the blood clot forms in the blood vessels than it blocks the flow of the blood in the heart muscle. To stop this happen aspirin is offered to the patients, so there is no chance of any blood clots to form. There are economic implications associated with Electrocardiogram because to detect what’s happening inside the heart muscle you need to enough money to have the treatment of the disease. Though, not all the people in one country are rich enough to have a treatment to this disease. People with MI who cant manage to have the treatment dies with out treatment.
