Overview of The Global Citizens of Today

In the modern world, increasing globalization has led to opening borders of different countries all over world for trades like exchanging goods, technology, resources, education. People are interested in gaining new skills and work in a more diverse backgrounds, therefore they are travelling to new countries to increase their businesses. In order to stand out from rest of the companies and make their company the best. They need to enter the global market. This means working with people of different cultures. This leads to people learning new skills and sharing their own talent with others. Besides this, people (mostly skilled workers) are immigrating to first world nations, in a hope for better future. They are looking for opportunities, which they are not provided in their home countries. All these people who whether immigrate or exchange trades across world as referred to as global citizens. I am going to represent my views regarding the global citizens of today, what is the need of globalizing and its after effect especially in contrast to the Canadian workplace in the following paragraphs.

The current scenario in Canadian Education system is that, students who are pursuing their education in the home country are more than the students pursuing their study abroad. A research revealed that earlier students were not interested in studying abroad, but with the changing trend, more and more students want to study globally. This factor is directly related to Canadian workplace as well as economy. Because if students visit abroad for studying they will not learn skills only, but will also acquire intercultural skills, languages, behaviours, attitudes, interpersonal skills. Also, they will know how to adjust in different environments and with people of different cultures. This further will lead to their overall development. Also, these people will bring relations and new businesses to our country, which is good for further consolidating businesses on global level. Companies are looking for these kinds of employees, as these employees would be efficient. Keeping the above-mentioned factors in mind, if a company hires this type of staff; henceforth, it would increase productivity of a company which will result in a healthier competition. This is one reason why global students are important in structuring Canadian workplaces and economy. Apart from this, a study was carried out which shows that majority of the Canadians thought that development of international relationship in respect to citizen and trades is very important because it opens more opportunities for people. People will acquire more skills and advanced education than their home country and would also learn about political scenario between the various countries. They would have a better understanding of political factors and other socio-economic factors than their peers back home. So, they would urge to become a great leader. Also, this would be beneficial for workplaces and unions where major chunk of their decision and policy making is done by leaders. As, they would have a better knowledge of the factors pertaining, because they would have been already familiar with these types of conditions many times in their lifetime.

I totally agree with the author that international studies are very important for making a healthy workforce and economy in accordance with Canadian workplaces. An international student will bring specific skills and advanced technology from another country and will apply in our country. It will enhance the company in which he/she is working and will leads to its development. This further will open more opportunities for other students and more opportunities means more healthy competition, which is an asset for Canadian workplaces. Apart from this, international students can teach the skills and education they acquired abroad to the students back home. This will result in students learning valuable skills, who were not able to afford to migrate globally for their studies. Further, giving a tough competition for job vacancies in workplaces so that only the best ones are chosen for job.

In the second article, the author depicts the information about the immigration, labour market, jobs and wages in accordance with the Canadian workplaces. Canada is facing shortages of workers due to increasing ageing and retiring employees. It is projected that Canada will undergo crisis in the next decade if this situation is not resolved. Therefore, Canada has opened doors to immigrants whereas other first world countries are imposing stricter rules and regulations against immigrants. Next year, around three hundred thousand immigrants are to be expected to enter Canada as permanent residents or on any other temporary work and study visas. This has a positive effect on Canadian workplaces, because workplaces would be able to recruit more young employees which can solve the crisis. Besides this, majority of the immigrants belong to skilled workers category, which right now is the most affected category by crisis. When these workers will join workplaces, they will bring their own skills and talents and would be able to share them in their offices and would help in solving problems. This also makes a workplace more diverse and employees try to understand each other regardless of their culture, nationality, etcetera. This diverse nature of a workplace leads to employees learning each other cultures, behaviours, attitudes, enhancing their interpersonal skills, feeling of oneness. These all factors lead to increased efficiency which further results in increased productivity of that company. Similarly, labour shortages were also very common in the country from the last few years, but after the influx of the immigrants, there was a downfall in the crisis. This factor has helped in increasing labour wages which is a good sign for the industry. Job opportunities have increased manifold after the immigration effect, because with increasing population, more and more people are opening their businesses and investing in business. It is a good sign for people seeking employment and it is a positive aspect for Canadian workplaces.

I agree with the author regarding the information he provided on immigration and other topics. Canada is facing a crisis and majority population of baby boomers are about to retire in the coming years. I have seen this problem, like when I visit any supermarket or any government organisation. I am mostly encountered by older generation rather than the younger generation.
