I have known some philosophers that has given me inspiration in life to fight or to go on. I have read about some philosophies that has given valid points and their philosophies make sense when you really think about it. There are philosophies that can really encourage us to do more and sometimes it is an eye-opener for us to realize that there is more in life, and life should be seen in other ways. In this example of a descriptive essay about a person you admire, I have shared my admiration for the philosopher Heraclitus and his philosophy, particularly his quote 'Nothing in life is permanent, nor it can it be, because the very nature of existence is change.'

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

I really admire Heraclitus and his philosophy; it gave me goosebumps while reading one of his philosophies. He said, 'Nothing in life is permanent, nor it can it be, because the very nature of existence is change.' I thought about this a lot at times and as you can see, it really this in life. It's saying that you cannot have complete control of things on a person, it changes every time, and it doesn't stop right there. I totally agree on him with this because its slowly proving in my life. Nothing in life is really permanent even if we really take care of it or you handle it really well, that doesn't change the fact that the object you're taking care of will never be destroyed or what. His other quote saying 'Much learning does not mean understanding' hits a lot to me as well, as a student I am constantly learning a lot of things but that doesn't mean I understand all of it, I just have the information, it's just like life that doesn't really mean you understand everything you learn about, it really takes time to fully understand one thing and you need to study a lot about it. Philosophy is interesting in many ways. It gives us wisdom and knowledge through reading quotes of people. I have encountered Philosophy just recently in my life. It took my interest, or my interest peaked at the subject. The experiences that I am encountering now is really complicated but by reading and understanding all sorts of philosophies given, I kind of understood what they were saying now, it gives us information and the knowledge I’ve been seeking as a young student who's curious about life. Tackling the subject 'Philosophy' makes me wonder about life and all. I know there are many philosophers but Heraclitus made me look at the world of philosophy twice, and as a student I am beginning to apply all the knowledge that i have learned from this subject and I will continue to discover and learn more about this.

The philosopher who gave me an informative quote and who made my eyes widen in the world of philosophy is no other than Heraclitus. His philosophies were interesting, and I can really think more about what he has said. For me it was really an eye opener. I strongly believe in his quote 'Nothing in life is permanent, nor it can it be, because the very nature of existence is change.' because without realizing this quote, you cannot cherish the people such as your parents in this life. You must learn to appreciate and keep your family or something that is important to you so that you will not regret it if it is gone. It may be hard but that's just life, that is how it is supposed to be. We just need to learn everything in this life.
