I was hired at an IT COMPANY, it is a US based company named ECLERX , I was a junior analyst at this company, my work was to resolve issues of customer through chats and after a few months my manager told me to change my schedule just because of a new employee that was hired by a company but I was one of the best junior analysts on the floor , then I had a word with my senior manager, and then he told me that it is totally up to me to change the schedule or not , then I refused to change my schedule ,and after a few days my manager started to give my hard time and then I complained to my senior manager and then he arranged a meeting for both of us and in the meeting he resolved the issue with my manager by compromising approach which is win-win style , the solution was that I agreed to change the schedule but not totally according to him .
The lesson I learned today is that a good project leader can effectively lead and manage teams and can improve team's strength and can see people with right ability in a crew and can maintain two basic things in a team that is permanency and belief. There are total four groups of the project team, first is making things occur which is called as implementing and then it is inducing which means getting a larger experience, third is building a relationship with the crew members and last factor is to think beyond the points and to act very smartly.
The foremost part is having a good team to perform tasks and that we can do by human resource, and then we should know how to manage a team and we should be aware of the techniques to improve teams capabilities and to give them proper training in their relevant field and then human resource manager should know how to hire employees and what to look for in employees. So, all these things were just to acquire the team and manage a team, know we are moving forward to pre-assignment of project team members. It is always a healthy sign to assign subject matter experts as timely as possible because they are the people who are very passionate and correct and we always know that they will be available when we need them at any point of the project
The additional knowledge I gained today is about negotiation- that sometimes manager of the project needs to negotiate with other managers to protect his service, the main negotiation is within the project manager and functional manager because the functional manager will always see to hire new people for the organization but project manager cannot expect new employees because in the worst case scenario when an organization does not have a good employee or a suitable employee for the particular task, then the project manager acquires the outsourcing option.
Another important to discuss here is about conflict, and I think it is very crucial to be aware of conflicts which we call as fights, there are many types of different conflicts that occur in an organization, so it is important to learn about conflicts and to learn to resolve them, during our routine lives; we get involved in a number of conflicts. The important thing is that we should know how to resolve conflicts and it is an important part of project management and every manager should be aware of resolving issues in between the employees because those issues can slow down the work progress and can affect the project.
