This is an example of essays on racism today as this problem is one of the most important issues of this modern world. This worldwide issue found itself most in the United States and has caused countless problems in US society. There has been several movements and protests, like BlackLivesMatter in which people have tried to erase the racism that they were confronted with. So, the big the question is, what does racism actually mean? Why racism is such a problem and how can erase this day to day issue?

'Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned'?

Racism refers to the belief that one race is superior or inferior to another. Therefore, racism simply put is that hatred that exists between people of different skin colors, origin, language, or any other factor which may reveal one’s identity and origin. Many countries specifically the United States of America have witnessed several debates on the issue of racism, as it has been identified as one of the factors which contribute to a lack of harmony in the society. The United States have witnessed many instances of racism. The United States being a multicultural state, experiences difficulty in the free interaction between people with different backgrounds. Black people living in America have from time to time been subjected to unfair treatments compared to their white counterparts. Due to the continued mistreatment of the blacks, a revolution was organized, known as ‘’ BlackLivesMatter’’. The idea of this movement was to give a message to society, whereas black lives actually matter too! For instance, cases of police brutality on black people have been on the rise in the US. Videos have circulated on social media showing how police officers shoot aimlessly at black people and not the whites. According to a new study, policemen killed 1147 people in 2017 whereas black people where 25 % of those been killed, despite being only 13 percent of the population. Additionally, US courts have been unfair in dispensing justice. The white offenders enjoy unlimited freedom and are set free even when they ought to be jailed. For example, the case of George Zimmerman who was set free by courts after killing Trayvon Martin in Samford. It is clearly how evil and bad black people experience their lives In US. Racism can be stopped not only in America but in the whole world. However, for this to be achieved, everyone in the society must stand up and say no to racism irrespective of their social status.

In my opinion, we all need to realize how much racism goes in our day to day life, and we should stop pretending like it does not happen. To eliminate racism each and every one should stop making assumptions, we should learn about other people and culture and last but least be a proactive parent. Upcoming generations should expose their children to diversity at a young age. Reports have shown that racism has gone as far as among the children. The white kids are reported to discriminate their black counterparts. They should know that we live in a world where we meet people with different cultures, languages, and religion. Only then will we have an inclusive society that is free and fair for all. To conclude, racism is the way with which some people from a particular race show lack of respect to the other races. BlackLivesMatter was a movement made to end racial discrimination but has yet not been solved. We all need to realize how much racism goes on our day to day life and should stop pretending like It does not happen. Eliminating assumptions, learning about other people’s culture and religion can lead to a good way of ending racial discrimination. Embracing diversity in the workplace can help reduce incidences of racial discrimination.
