Responsibility is majorly about ownership. Owning a defined path is the only truth to success. No one has the right to choose career paths for anyone. Successful people believe that a career is entitled to you alone and not anybody else. The urge for success makes people add extra effort in their goal. Some people act like their boss is responsible for their success and that makes them victims. Their chances of attaining success are reduced. Victims give small shots in the preparation of their career. They have the habit of allowing influences from people around them in their determination of their work. From time to time, they are fond of complaining about the work they have and their performance at work. On the other hand, creators base their success on the truth. They accept the fact that everything they do is the outcome of their choices.
Creators make wise choices. They master the art of choosing what career is best for them. They have the belief that they have no other option but to succeed in what they love doing. They use the power of creation. Creating opportunities and the job they want. Instead of waiting for things to approach them, they stay positive and look for them. Also, creators are always proactive. Waiting for the best job and calls from employers is a waste of time to them as they focus on getting the skills that companies are seeking. Doing all they can to add value and get known is their target goal. Most of their time is spent on researching where their talents can be placed. Creators go for interviews well equipped with knowledge. During meetings, they aim at looking for referrals that need their skill. Also, they are full of courage in a way that they handle the responsibility of contacting potential employers their selves. That is why I chose to be a creator and not a victim.
Accepting personal responsibility does not only create opportunities in getting new employment chances but also makes it possible for the person to excel in their job. With years, I have learned that if I accept personal responsibility, I will stop the habit of negativity. Complaining, making excuses and blaming others for my mistakes will stop. Stopping such negative habits will yield practical solutions to minor problems that have been derailing my success. By the reading and writing about personal responsibility, I have understood that success does not happen by chance but is planned. Taking new actions, coming up with new ideas, being proactive and trying new things are the significant habits of successful people.
Continuous personal responsibility brings initiatives instead of stagnant direction. Doing my best without looking back is the practice that comes with personal responsibility. There was a time in my life when I was looking for a job. I had sent a lot of CVs to different companies but was not lucky to find one. However, I applied the wise choice of creators and focused on getting the skill first instead of just asking. Instead of complaining about how the world was cold, I read online adverts on skills and talents that current jobs wanted. I changed my attitude and personal conversation by believing I am a winner and not a loser. Creating all possibilities and grasping all opportunities was my number one task. With time, I went to an interview and successfully got the job.
