Infant and toddlers learn best in environment where they feel secure relationship with caring and responsive adults. When they feel comfortable and where they feel free to explore and learn. A well-organized environment can help to meet the needs of infants and toddlers.

Smaller transportation toys, balls for kicking or throwing, riding on equipment to sit and stand on those materials develop their large muscles. The low climbers with soft materials, and hammering toys, construction sets, child size furniture, (kitchen sets, play with artificial foods). They are using their small muscles and social -emosonal development. Play dough is a great way to teach them some vocabulary, such as sticky, squeeze poke it, push, cut. It develops their fine motor skills and language skills. For dramatic play area dress up, uses clothes, doll and different puppets are developing their communication skills. Reading books, singing song and dance are demonstrate their physical and language development.
Child care safety is an important issue because young children explore their world with all their senses, including touching and mouthing anything within their reach. For this reason, it is very important to remove any potential hazards within their reach. To do this, you must think from the child's perspective.
There are a lot possible hazards with indoor physical environment. Room that are used for must be well light, have good air flow and be kept at comfortable temperature and humidity. Ensure there is clear path for parents and children to enter or exit the room. Keep away medication from toddlers, all toys should be clean frequently. Educator needs to remove small pieces of toys from infants and toddlers. We should provide safe toys and materials. All materials and equipment are should be age appropriate and all manufacturing items are properly labelled. Make sure all electrical outlets contain safety caps. Children under three, like to put object in to their mouth, which make high risk of choking hazard. An educator needs to check all games and puzzles for possible choking hazards. Infant and toddlers should not be allowed to play with small objects, such as, mar balls, small balls, toys that break down easily in to small pieces. Keep away sharp edges, pointy and broken toys from infant and toddler. An educator needs to supervise while they are playing with materials.
Educator has a big responsibility to keep children safe in indoor and outdoor. As an educator we need to observe children all the time while they are playing. We need to teach them safety rules. An educator should watch infants and toddlers when using play materials like water, sand, , plants, and flowers. keep them from putting these materials in their mouth. Teach them that only food should be put in the mouth. install and maintain all playground equipment. Check for loose screws and jagged metal on slides or swings. Make sure the playground is free of broken glass or other objects that could pose a safety hazard to young children. Ensure that all indoor and outdoor play equipment suits children’s ages and developmental abilities. Provide foods to infant and toddlers by following safety rules, such as; Hot dogs should be cut length wise and in small pieces, meats and cheese are cut into small, manageable bites, grapes should be cut length wise. It is not wise to give pop corn to under four kids.
Educator can play major rule providing materials and equipment to infant and toddlers in safely manner. Educator should provide safe spaces and opportunities for children to explore large muscle movement. Provide materials accessibly so that children the can reach independently. Providing materials that allow for the exploration texture, size and shape as well as materials that can be taken apart, opened and closed, filled and dumped. Allowing children to clean up minor messes they may have created, such as sweeping up sand spilled from the sand table. Giving children real tools such as spoons to feed themselves, even if it is messy. Allowing infants/toddlers to make choices about which books they would like to look at or have read to them.
Thoughtful planning and patience allow children to develop independence and to grow socially and emotionally in a safe and supervised environment.
