My family has 6 people: my father, mother, one sister, and two brothers. My sister is a very nice person, but she can get annoy by others easily though. She’s my favorite person in the family, probably because she’s fun and not as strict as my parents. I really missed living under the same roof with her.
Her name is Thao, she’s 32. She has long black hair, white mixed with yellow skin, and is quite tall. She’s really nice to other people, as long as they don’t annoy her too much, but she’ll forget about it a while later. She’s seem really smart in my eyes, always help me out when I got stuck in my homework, and believe me, school in Vietnam is very hard. I missed her a lot because she’s not in America, she’s still in Vietnam.
She got married about 4 years ago, when my family was about to go to America, so we ended up going to there without her. It was sad at the airport, she was crying, we were hugging goodbye. But on the other side she said she didn’t want to restart her college years all over again so she wants to stay behind. But I think now she wants to go to America since Vietnam’s government is getting more horrible by the minutes.
Four years passed by, feel like it was just yesterday, feel like it was just a blink of the eyes. Sometimes, just sometimes I was able to see her through the internet, at which it is not the same as seeing her in person, but it was better than nothing. I remember that before she got married, how we used to live, she have her own room, my parents have their bed, me and my brother share just a mattress on the ground, it was a little weird but sometimes I got to sleep with my sister in her room, she complain a little about what I do in my sleep, but I can’t control it. I also remember the time which she was getting married, my granduncle was the priest, and my sister was beautiful in the wedding dress. Then the party afterward, she was as beautiful as ever and my brother-in-law looks really cool. They sang one or two songs near the end of the party, it was so melodic.
I am ever so sad how after four years in America, my family still can’t afford to go to Vietnam to visit my relatives, but what I’m really looking forward to is seeing my sister again. That day should come soon because it have been four years already. Beside, my sister also had has a baby, which mean I’m an uncle, I want to see my niece too, not just my sister.
