Respect is a fundamental virtue in the world. Respect for each other will avert any misunderstanding between individuals or communities. In the family, there are various reasons as to why children should strive to respect their parents. The Bible commands that children should value and respect their parents every day. It is the only commandment with a promise, hence, critical honor parents. This commandment depicts that parents are co-creators with God, therefore, respecting parents is respecting God, the ultimate maker. Importantly, honoring parents is an expression of thankfulness to those who bring life to the world.

There is the need to respect the heritage and knowledge of the parents, which passed on from one generation to another. Parents are willing to forgo a lot to make sure that their children live a life that is admirable and conducive. This is enough for people to realize that there is the need to respect parents, even when disciplined. Importantly, parents always pray for a treasured life for their children, and they care enough to ensure that they have a safe future.

Parents play the most important role in your life. They help you mentally, physically, and are the people that are supposed to be by your side through everything. For everything your parents do for you you should always show your parents that you respect them and appreciate what they do for you. Even when your parents might make unfair decisions or things you don’t agree with you are always your parent’s main priority and at the end of the day any decisions they make are benefiting you and what is best for you. A parent wouldn’t ever make you do something they know isn’t good for you.
