Humans should have the right to be able to abort their children. It is undeniable that humans should have abortion rights. That is just the bare minimum. These reasons will follow up for why.
Primarily, Laws should not be kept on people's bodies. To not allow abortion is outrageous! It is not fair and sexist too! Society is forcing itself upon millions of pregnant people who get their own say. People have the right to be in charge of their bodies! They can get pregnant as young as 8 years old. The government has a long history of controlling and throwing laws on women young girls and their bodies. They are being treated differently and LESS than a man. For example, Back then, America’s voting system only allowed you to vote if you were, 1. White, 2. Male, 2. A Protestant, or 4. Wealthy, which is generally under the white male category. Presently, right now In India and 49 other countries, sexual assault is not illegal. They do not have laws to protect women from abusive men. In Russia, no consequences against people who have physically abused a woman. In Lebanon, men can be free from being executed after they have kidnapped and assaulted women. Currently In 41 countries such as Chile, UK and Tunisia, and more, Men ‘’deserve” to inherit more money than females, sometimes 1.5- 5% more. 32 countries have no laws addressing domestic violence from men to women. 18 countries have laws that a woman HAS to obey their husband. More than 2.5 Billion are being held under these ridiculous sexist laws that are controlling their bodies and who they are. It is NOT the 1900’s anymore. Society has gotten used to and enjoys the idea of women being in possession of men or their husbands. That is outrageous.
Furthermore, many mothers are prone to die from childbirth. Studies show that there were more than 400,000 maternal deaths per year from 2000-2004. Luckily the number has gone down but from 2017 nearly 300,000 mothers have died during childbirth in 2017 and about two-thirds of the deaths have occurred Sub Saharan Africa and about 19% from South Asia. About 1 in 75 or 1360 out of 100,000 pregnancies end up in the death of the mother. It might not seem much but these poor mothers are DYING. It has decreased significantly and sums up to about nearly 300,000 deaths of mothers world wide per year! Which is a decent amount more than the population of Djibouti. The mothers' safety should ALWAYS come first, risking a mother's life just to bring another into the world is absolutely terrifying and horrid. The mother could have lived another 70 years just as the child can have only lived up to 5. The mother may have been a worldwide scientist who found cures to millions of diseases. A baby’s life is important but so is a mother's life too. After giving birth, many mothers experience post-partum depression and might take their life from there. Imagine if YOUR mother was going to give birth to a new sister-brother for you but she dies in childbirth, Or if they had taken their life after giving birth to a new child. Imagine how many children have to experience that per year.
Another example is that many people are sexually assaulted and harassed per year. 96% Of women are sexually harassed at least once in their life. 14.8% of American women have been raped and at least 2.8% of women have been in an attempted sexually abusive time. It means about 1 in 6 American women has been a part of these disgusting acts. Statistically, 99% of the time the perpetrator is male. 91% of rape and sexual assault victims are females. Women are at a higher percentage of victimization of sexual acts, mostly among young people and non-heterosexual people. Violence can happen anywhere, anytime. 1 in 4 of young women aged 15-24 who have been or are in a relationship will have likely experienced violence or harassment before they reach their mid-twenties. Sexual violence is one of the least reported crimes and one of the crimes that lead to a young child or woman getting pregnant. Most of the time, children of sexual abuse are abused by friends, partners, family members, and members of society. 93% of the time the child actually knows the perpetrator before it happens. Nearly 70% of ALL victims of sexual abuse worldwide are children under the age of 17. Human trafficking is also a massive problem at this moment. The average age of being a victim of trafficking is now only 27. Many people are being trafficked and sold for organs, sexual acts, labor slavery, forced marriage, and many more. An estimated amount of are victims of human trafficking. Women and girls make up around 71% of the humans trafficked, an estimated amount of 3.8 million of adults and 1.0 million children are trafficked for sexual exploitation. ( Sexual acts without consent or pressured into consenting, usually to use someone unfairly for the perpetrators' advantage) These mental and physical damages can stay with someone forever and has many health consequences. It is an unseen way of T R A U M A and can lead to, Anxiety disorders, Panic disorders, Major depression, severe guilt, Substance abuse (Overusing illegal drugs such as tobacco, cocaine etc;), eating disorders, PTSD, C-PTSD, trauma bonded (In which a victim and perpetrator form an emotional bond with each other by using rewards and punishment throughout cycles of abuse and the victim have been manipulated. Usually feel an intense pain of wanting to protect the perpetrator or come back to them after the cycles of abuse), feel an intense feeling of mistrust to others, and MANY more. Not only can these cause the pregnancy to many women and children but it can also leave massive scars on them, physically and mentally. Many victims of these acts who go through pregnancy are FORCED to keep the child by family, relatives, perpetrator, etc;. Many people who are victims of these revolting acts often keep it a secret. Many children who were victims actually keep it to themselves for DECADES! A good deal of these manipulators use a process called grooming which is a process to get the victim and their relatives to get to trust them and get more time with the victim. Many times too, authority does nothing about it, And in many court cases, the perpetrator wins the case. The violence against our own humankind MUST be prevented.
MORE THAN a thirds of American adults think that abortion is wrong and should not be legal ( estimated 41%). Only 47% if Americans think that abortion is acceptable. That is only one country in the world. By itself, it’s already at least 13 MILLION against it right now. People have the right to their own bodies! Not being able to abort your own child can leave major impacts on not only your physical health but also your mental health. If people do not want children it is not up to you. It is their choice. That is why abortion should be legal.
