For thousands of years, humans have been fascinated by outer space. Forty years ago, mankind stepped on the moon for the first time. Now, some people point out the fact that space exploration costs a lot of money, but the effect is very small, so they think that space exploration is a waste of money. And I cannot agree with a statement that 'space exploration is a waste of resources', I have some reasons in this essay which are below.
First of all, at present, the rapidly increasing population, endless greed and lack of consideration of environmental consequences have caused severe damage to the planet. In order to survive, people need a new place of residence. According to a 2012 study, most scientists estimate the earth's carrying capacity to be between 8 billion and 15 billion people, but the population is now more than 7 billion. As a result, the futurist urged people to prepare for emigration to another planet, where your life or the lives of future generations might live.
Afterwards, space exploration aroused people's interest in science and related fields. If we want our children to become scientists or engineers, rather than reality TV stars, rappers or Wall Street titans, then attracting and inspiring their careers is crucial. Later, NASA scientists have created a space blanket that can help people warm up quickly. Not only that, but a variety of tools, materials and processing methods were first developed in the US aerospace program and later applied on the ground. Such a list of examples can be included in a long list. So NASA started turning space technology into civilian products. Today, orthodontists will use this material to install a scaffold made of it on patients.
Another important factor is the interest in private companies that mine asteroids. Space miners don't need to travel long distances to find wealth. At present, our exploration of space has enriched our knowledge, and the development of satellite technology has promoted the huge and rapid development of information technology.
Immediately after, my point is through space exploration, humans have mastered a lot of knowledge about outer space. we will not know that the universe actually much bigger than what we have seen, space exploration makes humans smarter. And space can also promote peaceful collaboration between exploring nations. 2001 Astronauts from three different countries had dinner together on the International Space Station. In 2006, the Center for International Studies in Washington published a report highlighting the benefits of international cooperation. First of all, the huge costs of space exploration could be Shared among different countries, the report suggests. In addition, it helps to build stronger diplomatic relations between countries. Like the US and India, and help create new jobs in both countries.
Since Apollo 11 in the United States, space exploration seems to have become the goal of all countries. Many countries have begun to prepare for the moon landing. Although space exploration is still controversial, there is no denying that many people are still working on it. So I also support the idea that people should continue to explore space.
