Shared custody is meant to ensure that children get equal rights and grow in an environment that supports their growth. These are only achieved if both the parents are ready to share their time, income, and attention for the child even after divorce to promote their child’s growth as any other couple would. The final solution to take care of children after divorce is shared custody rights for both the parent. Many children have unjust rights, which is income or financial aid. Several parents are ignorant about the hazard of unfair pay. Sometimes the father spends for their child more money than the amount the mother does, so the children will be victims. Because the child needs more support about his or her education, medical, health, and lifestyle, they need to have similar finance. The perfect solution is dividing or joining parent’s income to help them. This paper, therefore, discusses and highlights some of the important aspects of shared care and the implications to the child in their development and the achievement of their rights as proposed by the constitution.

In shared Custody: Financial Considerations” (Law source, 1995), benefits of economic sharing between parents for children are highlighted. The economic distribution helps promote a good upbringing for the child, which is a positive influence in the development of cognitive skills (Statsky, 2014). Increased interaction and communication between parents increases the opportunity to resolve financial issues. The child still in the early stages of growth has many needs, which a single parent cannot provide. Their combined support for the child helps instill the positive influence in them that reflect their character in adulthood. Similarly, the children are given the opportunity to relate to both their parents at the same time. Parents get to interact with their children at their convenient time, and the tension that might exist between them due to the differences in funds is eliminated.

Each parent owes part of the total cost equal his or her share of his or her combined incomes. If the percentage of a total cost each parent contributed to the child’s support is the same as that parent owes, there will be no support payment from one parent to the other” (Morrow, 1995). According to Statsky (2014), children are entitled to care, love, and protection from both parents in their development stages. Therefore, when the parents are both interactive in the child’s upbringing, they get to provide the child with the ability to have a mother figure and a father figure to guide them. On the other hand, guidance and protection from both parents and the provision of all the necessities of the child by both parents helps in reducing issues that affect the future of children. These are such as lack of proper education, developmental problems in the life of the child, and a feeling of insecurity for the child.

Conclusion

Family lawyers, doctors, and settlement welfare rights are some of the vital elements to consider in childcare issues. Since the time in memorial, parenting faced many challenges with the absence of a lawyer. However, in the contemporary world, parents have an alternative for parenting by involving family lawyers and attorneys, who are representatives of the parent’s and the child’s rights. Their role is to ensure that children get to live a life with access to all their rights and have a proper upbringing. Psychologists have helped children cope with the emotional impact of the divorce and the life they will have with a single parent when the other is away. Therefore, to reduce the occurrence of all these issues, parents should have shared custody, where all parents are influential in their child’s life.
