The Importance of Statistics in Modern World

It’s not always a hidden gem that Mathematics are a great part of our world, in its existence and how it even exist, mathematics plays a great role in reshaping our views about the world, it helps people understand how and why these things come to life, likely, people (preferably those who hate math) don’t see the value of math in their everyday life, all they see is just numbers, numbers, and numbers only, they fail to understand the very concept that life is and will be, a process of mathematics.

Statistics, likewise is a very essential branch of mathematics that deals with the computational process of an organized data or may it be the process of collecting information and data that later on will be measured ‘statistically’ on which then will be used as the basis of the likelihood of a statement. Statistics itself has even more branches that deals with other specific measures, to name a few, statistics can be used to determine the population growth of a group of settlers in Manila and as called as Demography, statistics can also be Epidemiology on which the numbers of illnesses on a population is determined as to understand what correct measures should be applied. By telling these so, the very importance of statistics lies within the context, statistics are applied in a large various process that helps humans deal with the rapid changing of the world. Statistics may come in different forms but all the ways, it is the same, and that is to ease life. Without statistics on our world, we would be unable to determine the demographics of the country which in turn is the source data of our government to regulate supplies that are given to each region or specific groups of people, without these demographics, regulators will be confused as to which supplies are most needed, what are those that are not, what imports are normal and what imports are overpriced, which region needs more supply and which region needs less to balance out our imports, what products has the highest potential on the international markets and which exports the country should involve in the marketing world. As a recent example of this phenomenon, if we look more deeply on the concerns of our government on this rice shortage and rice crisis, we can determine that there are errors in the statistical computation of rice supplies to each region which resulted to rice scarcity, and some people would say that there are hoardings, but to really understand, is that because there’s an unbalanced computation, may it be some errors on detailing how much of imports should be executed and how much of exports should be exported, simply put, the statistics doesn’t match with what the country needs, due to some and perhaps inflation that is going on, however, with or without inflation and other political engagements, statistics plays a vital role on our everyday life, to put it simply in an understandable manner, for those of course, people who are against mathematics, even calculation when to set the alarm is a very basic example of statistics that we do in our everyday lives.

To cut the story short, without statistics, the world would be turned into chaos, problems will arise because there are no legal basis to base upon, no statistical data to determine and solve the problem, statistics is used in almost every research a person does, statistics is needed to solve the problem the world is throwing at us, it is very important that we keep an open mind to accept changes so that we could grow and develop holistically, that way, we are able to monitor our life’s status and help each other out to be the best version of ourselves, it is always best that we are open to understand that things has its own purpose in this world and that we cannot change, truth be told, change is inevitable.
