The country has a population of 325 million people. According to the U. S census bureau a child is born every eight second. Due to the population and how well America has done in different points of history it has become an very wealthy country.
As we all probably know football is an very big sport in the U. S but football is not the only sport Americans are good at if we take a look on the olympics for an example America has actually won the most Olympic medals of all time. There is just one thing in the Winter Olympic Games, Norway is the one who won the most medals but combined with the summer and winter medals America has won the most. The language that is most spoken in U. S is English with an own touch of American dialect. But at a federal level there is no official language actually but there are laws such as the U. S naturalization law which indicates that english is the official language.
As I said before English is the most spoken language in the country and the second most spoken language is Spanish and that is because of significant immigration from south America. And that is also why Spanish is the most taught second language. slide 2The population of America was built on not only the native Americans that lived there but mainly on immigration from other countries such as Asian and European countries. This makes the U. S what people call it the most culturally diverse country on the globe.
Because of the U. S culture being so big and different almost every country has some little thing influenced by U. S culture. Something that's worth mentioning on this topic is when the Englishmen colonised the country in the early 1600 (sixteen hundreds). It has also been shaped by the cultures of Latin Americans, Asians and Africans which is 3 out of 7 continents and that is a pretty big number if you think about it.
The U. S constantly gets described as a melting point meaning different cultures collide and contributes with their own culture from their country and puts it in and makes it a part of the American culture and expands it. We can already see different food culture from all around the world e. x. pizza from Italy Chinese food from china and Indian food from India. And in the U. S there are also areas like Chinatown and little Italy where we really can see the mix of different cultures all in one country.
Americans are always on the go it's like a cult or something because they are always busy either it's an kid that needs to get picked up or dropped at school or a business meeting that starts 10. 30 and the time is already 10. 40, because Americans are on the move almost all the time there is often not enough time to go down to the local diner have a seat and order some food.
A common expression in America is “24 hours in a day is not enough. That is why you shouldn't be surprised i to hear people ordering food in to-go containers or walking around with coffee mugs or see someone quaff (chug) a triple espresso in the line. It's just like the stereotypes you see in American movies. You will also notice that drive-thru lines are very often full at fast-food restaurants; as an example KFC or McDonalds are trendy fast food restaurants. According to research 20% out of all American meals daily are eaten in the car 20% out of 325 million people that's a crazy number. So for many Americans there just isn't enough time to sit down at a nice restaurant and enjoy a real proper meal and relax.
