While he was speaking, someone came to the crowd and said that Jarius' daughter was dead and there was no need to ask for Jesus' help anymore. When Jesus heard this, he replied to them that as long as they have faith, Jarius' daughter can come to life again. When he arrived at the house, he only went in with his several disciples and the child's parents. Jesus told them not to weep as their daughter was merely sleeping. The parents could not believe him. But then, Jesus took the child by her hand and called out, "Child, get up!" Her spirit returned right away and she got up at once. Jesus ordered the parents to offer her some food and to tell no one about what had happened. Her parents were astounded and in shock.
