Intro

Social media pros and cons are often debated as the influence of these platforms continues to grow. Social media is a term that describes a person’s ability to affect other people’s social thinking in a community. The numerous social media sites, from Facebook to LinkedIn, make it easy to interact with many people. The more influence a person has, the greater their ability to sway another person’s mind. However, the impact of social media has also created spaces between individuals; they might sit together physically, but mentally, they are distant from each other. Such platforms have become so ingrained in our lives that many feel dependent on them, struggling to go even a minute without the internet. On one hand, social media provides avenues for connection and activism, but on the other, it's also blamed for promoting 'slacktivism'.
