Perhaps the most celebrated and most known musical group ever known 'The Beatles' changed the way the world viewed rock music for generations to come. Comprised of four members; John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, 'The Beatles' rose to stardom in England. With hits such as 'Love me do' The Beatles quickly grew a fan base in the United Kingdom. By the mid-1960s the Beatles were taking the world by storm and leading the British invasion of the United States ' music industry. Till this day the Beatles ' music is still being played around the world today.

Known for being pioneers for rock 'n roll music in the 1960s the Beatles were not always musical celebrities. Coming from humble beginnings in Liverpool, England John Lennon started his band known as 'The Quarry Men'. Lennon and his band performed at various venues around the Liverpool area. It was at one of these venues that a young Lennon and McCartney met. From that point on the widely known Lennon-McCartney pair was born. About a year after Lennon and McCartney had met McCartney suggested it was time to add a new member to The Quarry Men'. Soon after they gained their youngest member yet a 15-year-old George Harrison. With Harrison 's addition to the band, the men continued to play at different locations in and around Liverpool. Throughout this time, the band’s name went through several changes. After they agreed to discard the name of 'The Quarry Men' the band was known as 'Johnny and the moon dogs'. Following the name of 'Johnny and the moon dogs' was the label of the “Nerk twins'. After using the name of the 'Nerk twins' for a short amount of time, Lennon labeled them 'The Beatles'. Wanting an insect theme, the band adopted several other names after 'The Beatles', such as 'The Silver Beatles' and 'The Silver Beats'. At last, after going through a dozen names, the band settled on 'The Beatles' as their official title.

Although the musical group finally decided on what to call themselves, they still were waiting for their big break. Their big break came in the form of a man notice Brian Epstein, a record store owner. Something about the Beatle's energy when they play inspired Epstein to become their manager. Epstein was able to gain 'The Beatles' a few auditions. After a few auditions, the Beatles were able to get an audition with George Martin, a respected member of Parlophone records. The new drummer was known as Ringo Starr. At last, 'The Beatles' we 're complete. Gaining some popularity with a few hit singles, the Beatles slowly started their climb to the top. It was not until they released an album, which is known as 'Please Please Me', that the band caught a break. The album was a hit and topped the music charts for over 5 months. With such a successful album in their wake, The Beatles continued their success with a song entitled 'I Want to Hold Your Hand'. This song hit America in the early 1960s and became almost an instant hit. It was soon after this, that the Beatles made a few television appearances, it was then, and America fell in love with them. Soon after their musicals careers skyrocketed due to their popularity in the states.

Soon their faces were plastered everywhere, from large billboards to pencils and lunches boxes, one thing was for Beatlemania was here to stay. With their enormous amount of fame, came some negative aspects of being such widely known celebrities. Critics often proclaimed that the singing group was just a trend that would soon pass, others were harsh in their approach and publically bashed members of the band. The Beatles didn’t let such negativity bother them. In response to all the negatively, the group decided to make a move, as if they weren’t big enough already. The movies as entitled “A Hard Days Night”. At the same time that the Beatles movie was making its début, they also released a new album.

As their musical careers steadily grew, so did their friendship. As the men continued to get older their creativity grew. Their album A Hard Day’s Night was a collaboration between all the band members, something that they could truly call their own. As the band continued to grow with their musical prosperity, so did the famous duo of Lennon and McCartney. Lennon and McCartney worked steadily on lyrics for new albums to come. Spending their entire tome together, it was no surprise that all the members of the band were workaholics. Performance after performance, and town after town, the boys were undoubtedly busy and left little time for any extras. Even with a heavy workload, the group didn’t seem to be slowing down. As the band continued to grow older and more experience, they began to start focusing on what mattered most, the music.

As time continued to pass, The Beatles only became bigger. The singing group was known for pushing the boundaries and creating music that had never been heard before. No other musical person or group at this could even compare to the musical popularity that The Beatles had. Topping the music charts every week The Beatles continued to set musical records that still stand today. With two albums as well as two movies and several hits already released, The Beatles only seemed to grow on top of their already enormous amount of success. The Beatles continued to set the bar higher for themselves as well as others. Gone were the love songs and in their place was more eclectic songwriting. Every song on this album was a true original and had a different style and other Beatle songs before it. The Beatles truly put their feelings and struggles into their albums making it one of the best albums in history. Fans were able to relate their albums to their own lives and were able to connect with the members on a deeper level than ever before. Only solidifying people's love for this singing group.

Never being satisfied with the same songs, The Beatles continues to experiment with different sounds and different types of music. After their album Rubber Soul was released a new album was created, and it became known as “Revolver.” With the songs Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine and Tomorrow Never Know, The Beatles were able to illustrate their true talent with these hits. The start of culture was making its appearance known at this period. Hippies and free-willed young adults with a yearning for peace were leaving their homes and making it on their own. Strongly rejecting old ideals and morals in favor of more liberal thinking. The Beatles were doing similar things at this time, forgoing the traditional styles of music and breaking into their style.

After expanding yet again their creativity to a whole new level, The Beatles continued their success with their most unique thus far with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The collaboration between the members of the group featured many musical firsts. Each song on the album blended smoothly into the rest, creating the effect that the whole album was one large concert, topped off with hundreds of adoring fans. When The Beatles came out with this new material it just further proved to critics how unique and how creative the group was. They never ceased to come up with new ideas and different musical styles. Soon after the group started to undergo work on an album and movie in the spring of 1967, but was delayed by several events. The Beatles manager since the beginning, the man who was known for discovering the Beatles, Brian Epstein, passed away. This was not only an emotionally devastating blow to the group, having lost a business partner and friend. Without a manager to handle the business details of the band, the work fell onto the members. McCartney had a very take change approach toward the process, taking a large majority of the responsibility. The first strain had started to weigh heavily on the group. With is tragedy weighing heavily on the men, as well as a combination of other factors, was the beginning of the eventual breakup of the Beatles.

As they say, nothing good lasts forever, the Beatles were a true testament to this saying. Unfortunately, the band felt like they were running out of steam. Tensions continued to grow within the band and the overall feeling was that the Beatles were near their end.
