Our personal lives have been affected by the developing technology in recent years, as well as business environments, business principles, and working arrangements are influenced and shaped by these developments. With technology, new lines of business are formed. At the same time, companies with traditional working structure are affected by these developments and working environments are updated and developed. With the convenience of technology, it offers new equipment to its employees, changes the working hours of employees and offers convenience. It gains better efficiency than those who work with technology, and the physical effort of those who work decreases. With the development of technology, large-scale data are collected.

However, there are some negative aspects of these developments. For example, these collected data also contain private information of individuals. These types of attachments allow for abuse of technology. At the same time, individuals can be affected by these developments and use technology negatively, affect the working life in general life and decrease efficiency.

In this study, we will show an overview of the use of technology in the business world and its ethical structure. We will examine the use of technology in the business world and its ethical connection. Likewise, we will examine how the integration and use of technologies into the business world contributes to the solution of increasing needs in the field of business development. As we have mentioned before, technology provides us a positive advantage in business development, efficiency, saving time and reducing the workload in the business world. However, as some individuals can abuse technology, this will cause some problems.

Review and Analysis of the Case

Technology is developing day by day and is becoming the biggest part of our life. We are included in the big data globally, together with the data collected from us in private use and private companies. It would be impossible for us to think that global companies respect our data and keep and protect that information in private. While subscribing to the membership offered by a store, we are sure that the information we use when purchasing a product or the information we share in social media are recorded. There are strictly regulations or rules regarding the use that companies can give to this information; but the truth is that customers do not have real control over this and cannot guarantee good use. This situation also has a reflection on business life. With technology, business owners can reach their employees twenty-four seven. This enables special legislative intervention.

Companies can use social networks to communicate with employees, and they can use networks to enable employees to perform certain tasks, so there are risks of privacy if the use of modern technology is not regulated or certain ethical measures are not taken. It is clear that some arrangements and understandings between employees and employers should be put forward for better communication and ethical purposes involved in the process. Articulations of the use of modern technology in a workplace should be better understood and implemented more efficiently.

This case study will try to explain when the technology context in an organization can cause a problem, and to what extent communication in a company, especially between employee and employer, can be the key to the risk management process.

Case One: Use of technology

This case concerns a student named Miranda Rusden working at a university. Miranda has been working for four years and did not expect a promotional promotion from work. She fulfilled her duty and assessed the free time allocated to her. She performed tasks like checking emails and communicating with people. Miranda caught and naturally caught without paying attention to her private life, so she hardly paid any attention to the fact that she had plenty of free time from work. But when his manager got a report showing how much free time he took and how much time was used to perform personal activities, things gained another dimension. This situation had to be brought under control somehow. Although employees were aware of how much time they spent on their personal activities during working hours, it turned out to be a cost too. The result was low productivity. Companies can save a lot of money if employees as a company reduce hours spent on personal activities during working hours. For this reason, companies must apply and follow certain rules on their employees.

Case Two: Distinction between public area and private lives

Given the importance of social media in people's lives, businesses can use this fact to gain some benefits. Social media can be used as a means of communication among the employees within the company. As an individual and as a company, the use of these channels can become wider and open to use. As a result, any personal or company-specific information becomes public and a shared post or controversial comment may be unethical. Therefore, there must be a line between private life and public life, and individuals should be made conscious about this issue. We must follow the rules of confidentiality, pay attention to what kind of information and data will be shared with the channels and draw a nerve. It is especially important when it comes to sexuality, family relationships, religious beliefs and other important life aspects. It is up to an employer to make sure that these expectations, policies and practices are well expressed. A strong line should be drawn between the private and public life of its employees. It is important to ensure that there is no conflict of interest and that the staff of the organization must be constantly reminded and informed that any information posted on the internet is made public.

Case Three: Legitimacy of technology surveillance

Surveillance is suitable as long as it is carried out in a suitable and responsible manner. In the past few decades, the use of cameras has increased significantly. Cameras can be found almost everywhere and are clearly installed for the benefit of employers. Ordinary workers can also take advantage of this technology. Cameras are especially used for an accident, conflict, theft, etc. It is especially useful when it comes to. However, the ethical question becomes clear about how long images can be stored, the level of security where videos are kept, and who can access them. The way to hide videos or any surveillance test is of paramount importance because doing so without care can reveal the privacy of those exposed in such media and become a sensitive issue. While surveillance can be used effectively as a test to determine whether an employee is able to perform their duties in the best way, it also detects inefficiencies in processes that can be best corrected when detected. Cameras can be installed in any workplace with absolute legitimacy, but it is important not to interfere with the privacy of individuals and to exceed ethical limits.

Conclusion

The use of technology should be handled appropriately. All processes involving the use of technologies should be very well expressed so that a certain order should be created between employees and employers. It should be known that the problem or ethical dilemma consists of individuals who use technology that the technology itself does not have. It is important in this regard that private information to the individual is not publicly available and that the private life or public life of an employee is not affected. Employers should take a careful approach in this regard and make every effort to comply with ethical rules and transfer this process to their employees in the best way.
