The Gap Between Three Generations: Mine, My Parents’, and My Children’s

People's lives are so different even though they live at the same era. Especially humans are showing various features for each generation. I will divide into three kinds according to the characteristics. The first is to divide into generations of parents who have gone through World War 2, my generation who have never experienced World War 2 but hearing, and my children who want to enjoy their lives. Each of these generations has their own unique experiences. According to their experience, their lives are very different.

The generation of my parents had been undergoing World War 2. They were hungry and very poor. Almost of them had no cars and no electronic devices such as cellphone and computer when they were young. They were hard to go anywhere to work and feed their family. The most important thing they had was that they did not go hungry, they had fed their family, and had their own house. They were somewhat satisfied with the house, food, and cloths if they could have. They had to stabilize their society after World War 2. They wanted to build good society economically. Therefore, today if they see poor people, they try to help them more than young people. Especially, if their sons or daughters were economically difficult, they would be going to be worth giving priority to helping them so that they can be better than before.

I have seen many disabled people lost their arms because of war. Even though I have not suffered World War 2, I grew up hearing about it. I was educated by parents on eating and living well. I have never starved due to nothing to eat and I think that eating well is very important. But I expect something more than food in my life. My generation has experienced rapid globalization. After sleeping, the building rose. Streets and roads had changed a lot. There were not many cars when I was a child, but now everyone has a car. I have a house now. I expect I am not going to be difficult in my future economy. But I am still afraid of my life when I get older. I have a lot of worries about what to do. People say that you are going to live until 100 years old. The value I pursue is to be honored by young people and getting old healthy. It seems to be a feature of my generation.

My children are the generation that has grown without material shortcomings. My sons have had a cell phone and computer since they were children. They can not imagine that they are not going to get their own car when they are going to get a job. They dream that they are going to be better than me. I hope the future they wish come true. However, this age does not grow much economically. Is young people’s future going to be very bright? Nowadays, young people seem to be very anxious about their future. So they want to make successful life with their parents’ help. They want to get a job and house. However, they are not much interested in marriage. They do not think marriage is happiness because the divorce rate is close to 50 percent. They seem to be confused about what is the most important thing for their lives.

In conclusion, generations can not help being different because each generation had different experience and pursues different things. Although we all live in the 21st century, the ways and values of living vary from generation to generation. Parents still take care hard of family’s health and jobs. My generation hopes being honored by others during long life and getting healthy. And it seems that my children are the generation that focus on their development rather than thinking about the family in the times of rapid change. Each generation have lived different at the same era.
