The Vietnam war was a very controversial war as in the regard of how the government executed the plans. First was the idea of the Vietnam draft it gave the government too much power and violated the idea of limited government that was placed before. This draft affected regular american to join the armed forces because of the lack of troops that were already in the armed forces and most died due to the dangers of the war. This action causes many people to be sent and causing lots of families to be destroyed and torn by the loss of their children, spouse, brother, etc. Such controversial topic as the Vietnam war will be analysed here. This essay consists of short introduction, main body and conclusion.
The Vietnam War, spanning from 1955 to 1975, was a deeply complex and controversial conflict that unfolded in Southeast Asia. It emerged from the geopolitical tensions of the Cold War era, as well as the desire for Vietnamese independence and reunification. The war pitted the communist forces of North Vietnam, supported by the Soviet Union and China, against the anti-communist forces of South Vietnam, backed by the United States and other allies. What began as a civil war between North and South Vietnam soon escalated into a protracted and devastating conflict. The United States' involvement in the war was driven by a combination of political, ideological, and strategic factors, as it sought to contain the spread of communism and uphold its commitment to supporting anti-communist governments around the world.
The Constitution granted people a strong government, where the government had control over the country. After seeing how things turned out with the Articles of Confederation some Federalists just like James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and George Washington realized that they needed a new set of strong rules, which would help them solve the country’s economic and outer alliances problems. Seeing how the Constitution gave the government too much power, the anti-Federalists did not like the new rules, but for their pleasure the Bill of Rights was created as well.
The Federalists mentioned before believed in equality for everyone, which caused them multiple problems with their own party, since their party believed that the government and controllers should mostly be the ones making the decisions instead of the working class who they considered uneducated and unable to make intelligent decisions.
The war in itself was a very hard war because this was a war called gorilla warfare using their own citizens as bait to kill the US forces and many felt like this war was unreasonable and caused many riots and the government were in the wrong not consulting many other higher up to go into this war and making things such as the draft. Riots broke out and also made other groups like the “black panthers.” These groups were made to help the minority because even during the war many minorities were still being discriminated against and these were made to help make them equal and fight for their rights.
The war was a gruesome war by means of deaths and how the deaths were conducted and made people feel afterwards. The government were abusing their power in regard of violation of one's human life. The draft caused many to die over in the battlefield many families torn and many young adults. people who just turned 18 sent overseas to die. The right of human life meant nothing to them and reason caused them to used them for their plans in a war.
Even though the Federalists did have a point on being a strong government, the way they were using that power was over the top, they were discriminating against the working class and not giving them the rights they deserved as the constitution stated. For that reason the Bill of Rights was created.
All this manipulation and corruption of rules was lead by jealousy from both sides and what they needed is to come into an agreement, where both parties would have the same amount of power and not let corruption control the nation. They needed Democracy from both the working and business class, but maybe all these wars against each other were actually useful for future generations, just like ours in order to make a change when the time comes and we are able to be part of that democracy and government.
Finally the Vietnam war causes many issues and violated many laws and even questioned the power of authority and the value of one's life. The government had no right to use these regular towned citizens as pawns to their plan in the war and because of this it causes a big issue in our history and caused fear in all of the US of when the next draft is going to happen.
