“A definition of a hero is someone who is concerned about other people`s well-being, and will go out of his or her way to help them-even if there is no chance of reward. That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.” – Stan Lee. Normally this is where most people put something really inspiring or sad or something. Well that is not happening this time. Because I could not decide exactly which person I wanted to write about in this essay, I am going to write about my favorite Marvel heroes and why they are my favorite. This gives me an opportunity to write about something I really like and it gives the reader a chance to hopefully read something a little different. My three favorite Marvel heroes are Tony Stark, Peter Parker and Natasha Romanova.
First, there is not just one specific reason that Tony Stark is one of my favorite heroes. Like other hero`s, he did not have any powers. He only had his suit. The suit that he made because he wanted to be able to fix the mistakes that he made and some that he did not make. If you think about it, how smart he is could be considered his power. That, along with suit gives him advantages over some of the other more physically stronger hero`s. One of the biggest reasons that he is one of my favorite hero`s is that he loves what he does. This is proved by how he plays music really loud and joke about everything while he fights. Another thing that proves he loves what he does is how much time and how often he upgrades the suits. How powerful the suit is, are what his limits are. I am not saying he loves fighting just for the sake to fight. He loves protecting the people he loves.
Next, Peter Parker is my personal hero. One of the reasons are his background story. I get that a lot of hero’s background stories are tragic; Peter Parkers is just unique to me. After his parents die and he is sent to live with his aunt and uncle he goes on a field trip where he gets bit a radioactive spider. That’s where he got his powers. Later his uncle is killed in front of him and he uses his powers to find the killer and protect New York by becoming a vigilante. Another reason is his age. He is around the age that me and many people I go to school with and I just feel like that is someone we can look up to and kind of relate to. Obviously not the powers but more along the lines of how high school was. I can only imagine how some of my friends would handle the stress of high school and having powers like that. Just like Tony Stark, he loves what he does and that is fighting to protect the people he loves.
Last of all, Natasha Romanova is definitely my hero. I am going to admit a big part of why is because she is a girl. There are all of these big tough guys that are hero`s and there are very few females. It would be nice if girls had someone like that to look up to and just kind of be represented like that. In some ways she is really relatable but in others I just do not have any clue how she was able to do what she did. For example, I have never killed anyone but the whole feeling guilty over something I have done and now I have to fix it is relatable. Because she has killed so many people, I kind of feel like she thinks she has to give back whenever she can. I admire that but at the same time I do not really like that about her. I get she feels the need to make it all better and to make all of that just go away but from what we have seen from her in the movies so far, she already has made it better. Aside from bringing all of those people back to life, she has done the best she can.
In conclusion, when being asked “who is my hero” I will definitely answer that Tony Stark, Peter Parker and Natasha Romanova are three of my most favorite Marvel heroes. They are my favorite for all of the reasons I have already said and even some that I have not. All of these people have their weaknesses and yes, I know these are fictional people. While they have their weaknesses, they also have their strengths and other things to admire about them. No two of these people are the same and that is part of what we like so much about them. “A definition of a hero is someone who is concerned about other people`s well-being, and will go out of his or her way to help them – even if there is no chance of reward. That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.” – Stan Lee. So who is your hero and why?
