No one can deny the atrocities of the crusades or the inquisition and other evil started by the church”. Religious absolutism AKA absolutism was basically one of the main causes of the war. The king and many of his nobles are cathloic which caused a lot of tension between the two faiths.

How did the English Civil War affect absolutism in England and the rest of Europe?

Well the war caused a big change in the English political system. “The parliamentarians stood for the benefits of the new bourgeoisies, new nobles, yeomen, and most of the commons. The royalists stood for the benefits of the king, the old nobles, the priests and the bureaucrats and the magnates. With the development of the economy, the conflicts between them became more serious”. The parliamentarians won the war in the end. Most of England was royalist so I'm sure u can put two and two together and see how that altered their whole political system.

How else did the English Civil War affect absolutism in England and the rest of Europe?

Well King Charles I was executed and Oliver Cromwell created a new government. He was a puritan army general, abolished the monarchy, ruled as military dictator, and is the one who had King Charles I executed. Cromwell basically banned fun with his new government. He banned Christmas, dancing, going to theaters, playing football and other famous sports, working on Sunday and a lot more. He also directed a lot of his attention to the army making it VERY important.

Cromwell established a republic meaning there was no monarchy. This was a huge move during that time period. People thought all this meant Christ was coming to earth soon. But instead they got Oliver and his military leadership and no fun. As you can see there was a huge change around England after Oliver took over. It interferes with people's religions, their lifestyles, everything. None of this would've happened without the war. Besides that the war also caused a lot of deaths and property damage.
