The Impact of Culture, Politics, Economic, Spiritual, Technology on The Stability of Social Functioning of a Person

In the sense of the total Social Functioning, how family, grouped, organizations and community. Considering the following: Culture, Politics, Economic, Spiritual, Technology. Today our country is still in the process of addressing the social issues of our country. One of these is the Social Functioning of every individual, family, groups, and community. Social Functioning is what results from interaction between the two forces, the individuals coping capacities and demands of his situation and environment (Thelma Lee- Mendoza). It is how an individual's coping abilities and the demands of their environment and their capacity to fulfill their role in the society.

According to (Herbert Spencer and Robert Merton) of Structural Functionalism Theory explains that the relationship between social institutions make the society interconnected. Can these factors (Culture, Politics, Economic, Spiritual, Technology) may affect the stability of Social Functioning of a person? Culture from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning "to cultivate the social behavior and norms found in humans ocieties.(Wikipedia). Culture is th expressed in the many ways we tell our stories, celebrate, remember the past, and imagine the future. For children and youth, culture helps develop thinking skills, builds self-esteem, and improves resilience, which lead to possible outcomes. Culture helps build social capital, the reason that holds society together. Culture also plays a key role in poverty reduction and communities-at-risk strategies.

Culture is important to the vitality fostering social cohesion. Culture creates economic opportunity. Here in our country we are flourish with our culture. It also molds our personality and perception of the things we experience in our everyday life. Filipino set norms and constructs to divert recent situation into a positive way because of our culture. It helps us see positivity in everything that we do in life to be able to help up meet our social functioning. Politics involves making common decisions for a group of people. It is the activity by which differing interest within a given unit of rule are conciliated by giving them a share in power in proportion to their importance to the welfare and survival to the whole community (Education, News & Politics, Technology,2009).

Here in country politics is one of the most talked about within our society. Some refer this as” dirty politics”. Is it the politics itself makes it dirty or the politician who aims for power and glory? Philippines has known for this for some decades Political order is good only if who designed and enforced. It may have a direct effect on the social functioning of individual on how they cope in their environment. Politics is a battle where society's social rights are commonly violated by lies, libels, bribes, wars) where insecure citizens and leaders always desire more control.

When a politician is obsessed with its power it lead a politician to manipulate others, to gain more power, money or fame, propagate personal views. Because of these when an individual seek for employment bias will now come if an individual for referrals from politician is needed. Politics is good we have a good leader with heart, who fights for justice and rights of fellowmen. For the good pf his country and the people and not blinded by power and glory.Economics a social science concerned chiefly with description and analysis of the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services (Merriam Webster).

Until now the Philippines has unstable economic due to some reasons. That's why Filipino’s seek opportunities outside our country. There are more jobs opportunities in other country with a good compensation and benefits. Overseas Filipino Workers remittances are essential to the country. It helps to sustain the country’s domestic consumption and growth. So, our Overseas Filipino Workers must be pampered when they went back to our country. Give them benefits and rights that may protect them from oppression. Good economy also offers chances to our little local entrepreneurs. It is important to individual because our daily needs or commodities are all based on our economy. Our salaries are based on how the economy’s flow.

The opportunities of foreign investment that may able to open for employment. It may alleviate the recent issue of poverty where our country has facing way back then.Religiosity of Filipinos is one of reasons why people stay positive despite of the difficult situation and experience they’ve been. A good characteristic a Filipino could be proud of. We may be having different religious sectors but we have same faith to believe. Spirituality is connected to many important aspects of human functioning. It led us to positive relationships, high self-esteem, are optimistic, and have meaning and purpose in life.

According to Emil Durkheim, “religion provides social cohesion and control to maintain society in solidarity through shared ritual and beliefs, social control to enforce morals and norms to help maintain conformity and control in society.Modernization is the result of technology? Technology makes ouyr daily life becomes easier and more convenient. In our progressing world it is really much use and appreciated. One of these are our communication that makes as closer and easy to reach each other even we’re miles apart from our love ones. We use it at home to make life easier. It also contributes on our health care. New inventions are made for health benefits.Technology today is such a help for individuals, groups and especially in the field of economic industry that leads us to social progress.

Culture, Politics, Economic, Spiritual and Technology are interconnected with each other to attain stability of the Social Functioning like the theory of Structural Functionalism where every institution is intertwined to each other to commit the stability of the society. Every each of this factor is vulnerable to the social functioning of every individual, family, groups, organization and the community. Everyone has its role to play to have the equilibrium that we want in the society. Our individual participation and cooperation are much needed to make this come to realized. Every individual is important to the society. “Unity is strength when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved” (Matte Stepanek). Another saying goes” United we stand, divided we fall”. Social Functioning assess ourselves if we are able to attain life's criteria of good life.
