Knowing your passion in life is very important. Most of the time it helps us build our living around something meaningful such as future profession. Passion can appear at any age but it is better to develop it from early childhood. Nowadays, children are very lucky because they have more opportunities and a broad range of hobbies to choose from. Hobby is something we can fully enjoy our free time and the easiest way to acquire passion. Due to a huge variety of tastes people usually choose a hobby according to their character. After you have done so, consider yourself lucky because your life becomes more interesting.
In early 2000s when I was 3 my parents and I moved from small town to capital city - Astana. At that time, Astana was one of the fastest growing urban areas in Kazakhstan. Life in this city was just beginning so many people were immigrating from different parts of a country. My grandparents have been already waiting for us in capital. A small period of time we were prerequisite living together because we could not afford a separate house. However it was a huge benefit for me and my young parents since my grandmother decide to take the responsibility of my upbringing. The journey of my passion began in theater when my grandmother brought me to watch “Swan Lake” ballet performance. Graceful ballerina in a snow white tutu with a sad emotion helped me to feel the true pain of main character Odette. Fascinated by the heartbroken story, I barely noticed ballerina’s legs, especially shoes. When I asked my grandmother she said they call them “En Pointe”. Soon I realized it must be hard to be a ballerina. I always wanted to dance beautiful, but this unbelievable performance helped me to make a first step.
Unfortunately, I was not able to attend ballet instead I went to ballroom dancing. My teacher became a role model for most of the students in our dancing class. Tall, slender with a perfect posture she always moved as she was flying, pure swallow. Her smile and praise helped me to be more confident in my dance moves. Not everything worked out so quickly and well, as I preferred. Sometimes I had a desire to quit and start something else but love to music and rhythm prevailed.
My first performance was most memorable. At that day the whole family came to support and cheer for me and my partner. I had a pink long dress and a vulgar makeup that made me look professional dancer. All girls looked the same, a hair smeared with a gel and gathered in a bun but this was the main rule. I still remember the end of the vales dance and ovation of people screaming “Bravo!”. It was a great joy for me to perform in front of my classmates who afterwards were pointing at my side and bragging about knowing me. Being in ballroom dance for almost 5 years I decided to move further and acquire the different style of dances.
As time went on, things changed and hip- hop became one of the popular dance styles. Along with a hip- hop I learned to dance house and vogue. One time I had a chance to dance in front of the master of vogue, which was a great life experience for me. However if someone will ever ask me about my favorite style I would definitely say k-pop. K-pop music and culture brought me to study in Korea. Moreover my biggest dream to perform in popular Korean group was not successful enough. Instead I went to university and started a new chapter in my life. Since I was studying in business school I did not expect to have dancing for a long period. Fortunately, I joined dancing club that was organized by university students. My dream to perform in Korea was partly fulfilled. I was not in a famous group but I was on a stage with my partners and friends.
Nowadays I am trying to combine study and dancing even though sometimes it gets hard. At my 2nd year in university I had an opportunity to be a president of SolDancing club. It was in my responsibility to teach participants and set the stage performances. During this period I met a lot of different people skilled and not yet they had a one main similarity- passion about dancing. Excitement in their eyes was the only thing that motivated me the whole time. Today I can confidently assert that dancing is not just a hobby, it is my whole life. I can't even imagine how I would live without them. Every time I step on the stage, I am just overwhelmed with excitement, but as soon as the music turns on, it immediately goes away and I show everything that I was taught and what I achieved. In my opinion no matter what kind of hobby a person has we always have the opportunity to learn something new.
Learning may be the most interesting aspect of any hobby. Therefore, I think that every person should have a hobby they most passionate about, this is a task of our life.
