Like shown in the movie, “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss, humans have been destroying this world for many years. We decided to create different types of technologies to make our lives easier. Buildings, vehicles and other things that only cause harms our planet. The want for power and money from the big industries will cause a negative impact in our environment. People create pollution while trees and plants help keep this earth clean but big industries are buying land and cutting down trees. Deforestation could cause a ripple effect in our planet and in the way we live.
In the beginning of time humans hunted for food but then we started to use agriculture. Agriculture affected our planet in a negative way because it required a lot of space to farm and farmers had to cut down a lot of trees. The soil was great for growing trees but then after the farmers came, they made the soil go bad. Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 502,000 square miles (1.3 million square kilometers) of forest, according to the World Bank. Now, humans are destroying wildlife because they want to grow their big businesses. They make people believe that it is not true so they can keep their good image and make people feel good for buying their product.
While more big businesses are being created, the amount of greenhouse gases will be released into the atmosphere. The impact of greenhouse affects the water cycle causing forests to turn into deserts and lakes to dry out. It will also impact the weather making it snow in places like Mexico and for the arctic to melt. Many animals will be affected by this and it will force animals to migrate or to die. Polar bears and other animals do not look like they used to. They are fighting to stay alive since their habitat is being destroyed because of the greed of humans. Deforestation threatens species including the orangutan, Sumatran tiger, and many species of birds. Significant deforestation in 2016 included Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the types of plants will be extinct because the living conditions for them will change.
Finally, the air will be contaminated and not fit for humans, animals and plants to inhale because of the carbon dioxide build-up . Many places have destroyed a lot of their forests like in the Democratic Republic of Congo and other parts of Africa, and parts of Eastern Europe, according to GRID-Arendal, and it has impacted the weather and the inhabitants that live there. Since air is needed for everything to survive, we will be forced to create a device to help us breathe. Even if it works, we will not have animals or plants to consume. People would also get sicknesses from the contamination and eventually the human race will be non existent.
In conclusion, deforestation affects us and every living organism in this planet. People think that it is okay to destroy forests for money and in a while money will be useless since the human race will be extinct, taking every other living organism with it. Cutting down forests causes a change of weather and the water cycle causing animals and plants to loose their habitat and die. Since trees are like the lungs of this world, we are slowly killing this planet and ourselves. Deforestation is causing a chain of events that will eventually make this planet a dystopia.
