A study shows that people get to know more about others through interaction, be it on the phone, or face to face or whatever means necessary, you tend to find out a lot more about the other party.
My life has revolved around such practices and everyone I interact with even for a few minutes, I tend to grab a few attributes about them. It could be interesting attributes, not interesting, bad ones or even the worse you could ever know about someone. Well, in this article I will focus on the interesting attributes only since you know, interesting is good.
Most of my time, I spend trying to know the world better and exploring every bit of it that I think adds value to my life. Mostly, since I’m in love with technology, all my exploration have revolved around things to do with tech which I find fascinating. Just recently, I saw this advert on Facebook for a developers job to join and work as a developer in this awesome company, Andela.
I didn’t hesitate or ask a question about anything since I had heard my friends talking about the company. I applied and got a chance to get to the Bootcamp stage where we are required to build a product for one to fully join the company. During this Bootcamp, I met a lot of new guys from a different region of the world and this was great to me because I got a chance not to just get into Andela Bootcamp but also to met new people.
A few of whom I interacted with partially and deeply. From the interaction, I manage to grab interesting and not interesting attributes about them. But since I mentioned earlier that I’ll stick to interesting, I’m only telling you what attributes I found fascinating about the following four.
Paul Kinuthia, he’s one of the boot-campers at Andela. Well, I would say silence is underrated and many tend not to look at the bigger picture of silence. My point is, Paul is the quiet type and if you have not interacted with him for a moment, you would easily judge him wrongly but this guy speaks through words and code. You look at what he writes, the code, it’s only awesomeness. That is so interesting and I would really work with such people.
I know of some people who have a fixed mindset about stuff, especially stuff to do with technology and computer programming. But not Charity Marani, she is confident and sees the bigger picture of things. Charity never gives up on anything, I remember this one time she kept getting errors on the code she had written and couldn’t seem to find a solution to what really was wrong but kept on debugging and asking for help until things worked perfectly. That to me in awesome.
The next interesting fellow I know is actually a Learning Facilitator (LF) at Andela Bootcamp. His name is Abraham Ogol and he is awesome. From the beginning he has been there with the boot-campers, helping in every way possible to unblock those with blockers. What makes him even more interesting is the fact that he is kind.
Lastly, I will mention this one person whom I find interesting because of the fact that we were in the same boot-camp, cohort 28, previously and have found ourselves in this boot-camp, cohort 31. He is simply, great at thinking beyond.
