The Case for Nursing: Why I Want to Pursue a Career in Healthcare

The nursing program is one of the most appreciated, satisfying, and growing career available in today's generation; meanwhile, by joining nursing I could be able to make a difference in people lives and be able to help through my career, I got motivated by the work of those people in the nursing program, and the opportunity to work in a variety of medical settings and being able to choose where to work and learn daily are my reasons for becoming a nurse.

Firstly, I could be able to make difference in people lives. In fact, I grew up nearby a church, where I attend every Sunday night; the preachers often use this bible verse ‘‘It’s more blessed to give than to receive.’’ and I always wish to give out to others, in whatever it is I can, so I think of becoming a nurse as I grow up; for example, if I could reach others while they are in their difficulties and suffering physically or emotionally, I will be able to support them in my profession whenever I can, and there will not be anything that will make me happier than to see my patients become happy and satisfied. Furthermore, expanding and enriching patients’ lives every day throughout my profession can be a great thing.

The second reason to be a nurse is that I am highly inspired by nurses and what they can do. For me respected parents or relatives were not a motivation, yet I was lucky enough to have had the chance to meet some healthcare professionals who have inspired me with their skills, diligence, and passion to their career of nursing; their examples got me thinking that nursing would be a handy career for me, and I surely can see myself making difference in my clients' experiences while they are in the hospital settings.

Additionally, the opportunity to choose where to work, and further your education. In a variety of hospitals, physicians' offices, healthcare services nursing care facilities, and clinics and other places will give me a chance to learn every day and to enjoy the experience of learning the routines in each type of facility will give me great satisfaction to invest my time in a nursing industry. Furthermore, as a nurse I can choose with what department I want to work; for example, if I first start working nursing as a Geriatric nurse, but I did not really like working with elderly people I can take a short time training and be able to work as a Pediatric nurse. Furthermore, as a nurse, I will get the opportunity to interact with patients, medical staff, and Doctors every day and this will give me the opportunity to learn from other careers and add to my knowledge.

In conclusion, why I want to be a nurse is because I will be able to help others those in need, and by being inspired by Nurses’ job and what they can do, and the last reason but not the least, to be able to work in variety of medical settings and learn new things daily are my motivation and reasons to get in to the Nursing field.
