From the time North America was founded, Indigenous people are facing serious issues which are a fiercely debated topic. The westernization of the society had let to the elimination of the indigenous community which is getting faded with time. Many issues are faced by indigenous people in Canada which have impacted this community from the core. To keep this dying culture alive government of Canada has created the special department which can protect rich indigenous culture and can provide necessary funds to aboriginal people, this department is known as the federal department of Canada. Today Government is playing a vital role in revitalizing of this old Canadian heritage.
The life of Indigenous people has been very arduous in Canada because of which government has revised many different laws which can give more protection and rights to the indigenous community. The chief issues which are faced by aboriginal people are literacy issues, the housing problem, unemployment, sexual abuse discrimination, racism, health problems, and many more. Not only this but they were mal-treated in past, were forced to go in residential schools in which they were brainwashed and were forced to convert themselves to be Christian and to obliterate their own belief and culture. First nation individual was abused both mentally and physically in residential schools and many different physical experiments were done on them which was cruel and inhuman behaviour by the Canadian government. The system has forged a dark shadow on the Aboriginal community for many years. Because of all this reason the Indigenous community is decreasing in Canada. For the well being and for proper development of the Indigenous community in the 21st century, not only the government but businesses should also come together and play a major role to fight with this issue.
Business has an important part in the indigenous issue going on in Canada. In one report it was found that strong Indigenous business is also seen by 77 percent Canadians as a pathway to healing relationships with First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. The UN estimates that there are over 370 million indigenous peoples living in over 90 countries. These Aboriginal people are vulnerable to the impact of commercial development and business activities. This damage is so brutal that it cannot be revoked easily. Today due to globalization and many opportunities, a new business can be easily inaugurated with indigenous people in many different ways. They can act as supplier, contractor, employees or partners for the business. This can contribute to the long-term success of the project and can help embed business in the local community.
Business can play a vital role in the upbringing of the indigenous community and can help to increase the standard of the lifestyle of the native people. By a recent survey, it was known that Eight in ten Canadians believe that Indigenous participation in the economy strengthens the country’s social fabric . To decide their life, different necessities of business ought to be given, for example, access to business organize by which indigenous network can make a picture of themselves in the general public. Proper business resources should be provided by which indigenous people can develop their own business. Government approaches to set up by Canada's establishing fathers made a significant number of the issues and difficulties.
