The roles of women in the society and their models of behavior had been distinct differently in the past between them and Men. Women are disadvantages in institutional setting, do a disproportionate amount of housework compared to men. However, there are been considerable change since then. Today, gender roles have been shifted, which had a strong impact on the society. The women of western culture are not any more satisfied of the role of a housewife; they prefer making their own career and sharing the same rights with the men (Howie, on 2010). This fact means that the rights of the women are based on a freedom which can be considered to be a virtuousness, but not as a load.

The women continue fighting for their rights. Today, there is ongoing discourse on the part of opponents and supporters of feminism, but the key is to understand the roots and reasons for the phenomenon itself (Gillis 2007). The principal goal of this paper is to discover the objective state of the problem and to conclude if the women gain by acquiring the same statute as the men in the human society. The role of the women in the fight for the equal opportunity underlines the positive effects of feminism on the social reconstruction of the sex and the kind which was caused by a certain number of events and of significant historical developments, such as Fourth Reform Act of 1918, Women roles during the 1st and 2nd world war, the women’s rights movements launched in the U.S characterizes as 1st wave, 2nd wave and 3rd wave. This paper is focused only on the women’s rights movements characterized as 1st wave, 2nd wave and 3rd wave which related to what we have learned in class The first wave, the second wave, and the third wave. The development of the first wave, second wave and feminism of the third vagueness stresses the importance of the implication of the women in the social reconstruction of the sex and the kind (Howie, 2010).

Although these waves are closely related the ones to the others, there exist differences in their philosophies. It was noted that each vagueness of feminism is based on successes and the failures of the former generations of women. For example, the feminism of the first wave is reflected in following successes: vote and rights to vote. These developments took place at the end of the years 1800 - at the beginning of the years 1900, influencing other changes in the representation of the women (MacKinnon). Moreover, the feminism of the second vagueness, which was launched in the years 1960, focused on women’s equal access to employment and education, the rights to the abortion, the custodies of children and other questions, in particular the recognition of unpaid work by the women, the access to the health services and equal wages for an equal work. Catharine MacKinnon, professor of right to the University of Michigan and author of the book Towards a feminist theory of the State, support that the women's rights are still limited and that it is necessary to widen the horizons of the women. Various problems remain unsolved. The women continue to fight for their rights (MacKinnon, 1995).

Finally, the first wave and the second vagueness of feminism created certain challenges, such as the concerns on racism and discrimination, the tensions between generations, etc These concerns can be found in the following wave of feminism - the feminism of the third vagueness launched in the years 1980 (MacKinnon, 1995). The feminism of the third vagueness is based on the critic of the collective past of the movement of the women and the construction of a movement more diversified and dynamic. In other words, it is characterized by the increased role of the multiculturalism (MacKinnon, 1995).

Alice Walker (1983) helps to evaluate the role of the virtues, the beliefs and the values in the creation of an ethics of the feminist virtue, which constitutes the base of the feminism of the third vagueness. She affirms that social activism contributes to the promotion of the feminist ideas and answers the challenges caused by the diversity of the society. Conclusion In summary, the women always played a significant role in the development of the history. This paper is based on the proof of the effects of the social reconstruction of the sex and the kind on the women and their participation in the fight for the equal opportunity, which became a historically given stage of social development.
