There are a lot to know about American History. In some cases some people rather not speak on that type of subject. Americans have suffered for many decades due to not having equal rights. For the most part, all African-Americans was not accepted for who they were. In the past decades equal rights was not shown to African-Americans. African-Americans was later stood in unity and represented by these leaders; Martin Luther King, Malxom X, and Rosa Parks.

As questioned as a leader of the peaceful Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the leaders who was the most hated men of that decade. As read in some sources, Martin believe in equal rights and that no man or woman be judged by the color of his/her skin. In the most part, Martin was most of African-American’s greatest leaders of all times. Equality and nonviolence was the legacy of Martin Luther King. Dr. King was well- educated at an early age; he graduated at the age fourteen from Morehouse College. He later earned his doctorate at Boston University, where he met Coretta Scott. In 1955 Martin became pasturing at a church in Montgomery, Alabama. In the late 1950s, Dr. King organized a bus boycott which took place after Rosa Park’s arrest on the bus. Martin had a dream that all segregation would end and everyone would be on one accord in God’s sight. As a being a pastor, his belief was to not throw stone for stone to get a point across. The battle have not ended yet, the police department of Alabama arrested Martin many times due to his beliefs of African-Americans. In the year of 1965, He took action of the march in Selma, Alabama that led to Voting Rights.

On the other hand, Malcom X was well, a lot different from Martin Luther King. Most people tried to forget Malcom X as a leader. He had been sent to prison for the use of drugs. As stated, Malcom X converted to Islam that was also segregation. He was known for his boldness and beliefs in doing whatever it takes and whatever a person want. When he stated in doing whatever it take, which mean he wanted equal rights also. Malcom X beliefs was also compared to Martin Luther King. In most sources Malcom X beliefs and equal rights was basically on spreading black pride and to end racism. Malcom protest usually led to equal rights. Malcom X did not agree on all the things Martin Luther King believed in. He was a muslim and a person who believed in violence. In the year of 1965, a member of the Muslim assassinated him.

In additionally, Rosa Parks inspires people today to stand up for his/her rights. By refusing to give up her seat to a white man in 1955, that led to Rosa Parks arrest. Her arrest became published into the NAACP which led to the boycott movement. Rosa conviction was on the same day of her arrest by not giving up her seat. Rosa Parks soon join the NAACP to help people of African descent, and to have their equal rights and beliefs. Her arrest symbolized of dignity and strength in African-Americans struggle to end segregation. She was not a leader of the Civil Rights Movements, but her beliefs of Civil Rights laws and equally rights was similar. She began working with Martin Luther King along with the NAACP movement to help fight for equal rights. To bring to others attention, Rosa Parks had to quit school at age eleven to help take care of her ill mother. She got married to a NAACP member Raymond Parks at age nineteen. Her husband supported her and worked with her on getting her diploma later in her life. In today’s society, Rosa Parks still symbolize standing up for what is right.

In conclusion, Martin Luther King, Malcom X, and Rosa Parks all believed in equal rights and ending racism. Through the years their beliefs touched other lives and made the way for the future for African-Americans. Their speeches accomplished ending unequal laws. Dr. King, Malcom X and Rosa Parks was arrested for standing up for their rights. Change has taken place, but racism will never end. Their legacy will continue in History and to other people in the future.
